Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

Utd aiming for their 4th Premiership win in a row. Would be the first time we had achieved such a feat since season 2013/14, when we won 5 Premiership matches in a row (with a Scottish Cup win sandwiched in there also). This was the magical period when Utd scored 4 goals or more every week.

It won't be easy tomorrow night though, that's for sure.

We have a terrible record in West Lothian and in fact haven't won in Livingston since February 2005 We rarely even ever score there. The place is really a bit of a bogey ground for us.

Utd rarely play well on plastic. A win tomorrow night would in some ways be TC's most impressive result to date, if we can produce it..

Re: Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

A tough game, especially as Tam has previously lost here when in temporary charge almost a year ago to the day.

Much has changed since then, but it is certain to play on his mind. I see this game as a "nothing to lose" game, we have already exceeded points targets for this stage, so anything in West Lothian is a bit of a bonus, and it's a chance to freshen up the team and give minutes to fringe players.

With this being the last game of the first quarter, it would be ideal to pick up a point and realistically I think that's our best chance here. 0-0 would surprise no-one and I'd be ecstatic with that. I fear a 2-0 defeat.

A draw would keep us challenging to be in the mix for a top six place, although like many others I'd still settle for 10th place right now if offered, and that will be the case until we are officially "safe".

Team wise, I suspect things will be shuffled a bit to give one or two players a well earned rest. I would like to see Max Biamo, Liam Smith and Flo Hoti taking a game, with Nicky Clark, Jeando Fuchs and Keiran Freeman taking a breather. Under normal circumstances I think Reynolds would come in for Mulgrew too, but the plastic doesn't suit Mark. If Thomas is feeling brave, there could be a place for young Kerr Smith, who performed so admirably at Celtic Park and will be used to playing on artificial surfaces.

With these lads rested, we can return to our strongest XI for Saturday again.

Interesting summary AU but you make this game seem almost trivial with its only benefit being an opportunity to put our feet up & muck about with the team selection.
I don't think it works that way.
It's a league fixture that is every bit important as each of the previous 10, derby & OF included.

Tough ane, but then they all are.
I'd like to see Armstrong & Glass for starters v Livi
Looking a bit further ahead - Livi, Saints, Hearts on Nov 6th - 3 games tae international break.
So no need for wholesale changes for the sake of it.

When you are on a run the only result is one that keep the run going.  We should have no fear at the Spaghettihad.  Draw the absolute minimum acceptable but we should be going for the win.

Giving Fuchs a rest is an interesting one.

Big call tonight putting Fuchs on the bench unless he's carrying a knock.

Our best player by a distance imo, hope this works out.

Re: Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

Can't help but feel disappointed that we never really pushed on for the win after them going down to 10 men so early.

Feels more like 2 points dropped, than 1 gained.

Maybe a measure of our progress though, as a year ago we got gubbed there in Courts first game in charge.

Re: Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

Yip feels like 2 points dropped, the ref seemed to give them every decision after rightly sending their boy off.

Just didn't seem to have that cutting edge in the second half. Great goal in the first.

Thought he could've taken off either one of the CM or CH and went two up top and left Clarke on.

A point is no disgrace though, on to Saturday.

Re: Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

Well by a stroke of luck, I got to see a lot oe the gehm on hesgoal.

Nothing wrang we 1 point awa fae hame, but yeah, agree, we shoulda won it.

We were all over them, mair and mair as the gehm went on.

Plenty attempts, but it was probly oor finishing that let us doon. No as bad when you look at the Funsters.

Livi are a horrible team to watch. Their goal came fae a definite handball in oor box.

MOTM for me Levitt.

Re: Livi V's Utd - Wednesday 27th October

I was delighted with thon score. As soon as they went down to 10 they were always going to sit in, and on that pitch it is almost impossible to break them down.

Great result and keeps us well clear of the bottom 3.
