What team and formation lads?

4-3-3 for me but more importantly is the replication of the effort from the rangers game. Get right in their face. Extra time on Sunday, an away game in Europe on Thursday. Absolute ideal time to catch them.
Unfortunately, we’ve not got lots of options that complement that approach or can carry it on off the bench.

Clubs profiteering over fans desire to see a match in person again (ours included).

You can't really blame them though given the lack if income over the last year. Where else are they going to get it? It won't be the only sector that it putting its prices up. Going out for dinner or drinks has been bumped up too.

Ehm, the club have made an absolute fortune off of the supporters over the period of the pandemic. With very little in return.
There is a clear distinction in my book between 'making money' and profiteering. What the club are doing with sadly falls into the latter imo.
Sticks in my craw.

Seeing on twitter that Benji has picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury and will miss the rest of the season.
This is sad news for both Benji and United and will be a big loss to the team.
However from what I have seen of Carson I am sure he will do well in his run of games as he has looked good when I have seen him.

Club might offer a year extension on his contract to see him through his rehab.

Big blow, gutted. This also means we will have to be able to rely on Newman as back up as to bring in a replacement will mean one less place on the wage bill for a new signing 😕

Fantastic result, not seen the game so looking forward to highlights
Surprised we never made any subs, especially when we went down to 10 men but well done Tam and the boys

Brilliant result and clean sheet. Thought Pawlett should have been subbed 10 minutes before his red, could see it coming.
Huge blow about Siegrist if the rumours are correct about him doing his ACL.

decent stuff all round again and a great result. hope we get to keep Jeando for the full season... first name on the teamsheet for me every week, absolutely love the guy. Levitt looks a bit like Harkes receiving the ball - but huge difference on what he outputs... not spectacular today, but extremely neat and tidy and his placement and weight of pass and being comfortable taking the ball under pressure bodes well for him being a player who can make a big contribution to the midfield when he gets used to those around him. Pawlett gets a pass for scoring and he may well have been clipped for his 2nd booking, but just wish he would restrict himself to a couple of those falls per game.

All spot on. Would add that mulgrew again was very good with and without the ball. Being able to rely on just 2 centre halves allows us to have other options upfront and I. Turn allows us to carry a bit more threat. Still lacking a bit though as the squad was very tested today with chalmers, butcher and Harkes out.
Was probably the right decision to leave all of the players on as they all looked for and strong right to the very end and the options on the bench weren’t really suited to the game. Folk would have went mental if we conceded. But we didn’t. So fair play.
Great to see another full hearted performance where we tried to play a bit too. Still lack pace up top. Hoping the flying Finn is the answer.

Looks absolutely class. So what are the rules on getting in now? Just ticket and in? Or are they checking health status?

totally agree - also think it's interesting to watch the other players' reactions when Mulgrew goes round the team after the final whistle... they all seem to really look up to him in a different way to how they react to Reynolds, and think no coincidence that Jamie has been hugely improved playing beside him. was one moment where Mulgrew saw the opportunity to step out to give Rooney a dunt in the back under a high ball after he'd been bullying Jamie that i thought was class... although still Jeando's squaring up to him and subsequent screening of the ball that ended with the Rooney kicking the ball away tantrum was my highlight of the day. Connolly gave us something when the team was soft to the core - but the difference between his mr angry stomps and Mulgrew's composure is night and day. still wouldn't mind seeing him on corners either... Edwards will win his share of headers if the ball is decent.

The first booking for Pawlett celebrating the goal is incredibly harsh, football is all about the fans and that's the first time our travelling support have been able to celebrate a goal in a very long time, no wonder he ran to them.
Offline
It's just not a booking, simple as...neither is the 2nd yellow, he's travelling at pace and the trailing legs contact, he is guilty though of making the most of his fall......the foul in between is more of a booking than any of the 2 he got,.,.thought the ref was piss poor.

Forgot to add that Mulgrew is the best signing we will make this season by a mile......

Thoughts on home side for a slightly different slant. Nothing to fear from them really. Was impressed by Rooney for them - such a handful in so many ways. Lacks a bit of quality but an absolute monster. Makes that system work for them as he eats the ground up and can go from a back 5 to an attacking threat in seconds - what we failed to do when we played it.
McCann also pretty tidy but instantly unlikeable when you seen his wee rat face trying to get Pawlett sent off then pushing him multiple times.
Murray Davidson is like a bull in china shop that's actually made of China. Belts about like a fucking idiot and then spends half the game on his arse injured. Kane is a clever handful upfront but marshalled him well.
We'lll have tougher tests than them when they are in between european games but promising signs from yesterday that we can go on and compete this year. Will be very interesting to see how we set up and how we do in games where we might be expected to have more of the ball - and what Levitt can bring in those games.

Ref: Twat.
Only thing you can ask is consistency.
Only way he was consistent was inconsistency. Just glad nobody got injured.
Watched Pawlett send off replays 2 or 3 times now - McNulty actually pushes him into crowd.
He did get a delicate wee clip from Davidson, pity he made a Hollywood of it. But doesn't change fact that he was clipped + Davidson had clipped goalies heels about 2 mins prior.
Mulgrew like watching chess moves. Infectious enthusiasm at end.
Unsung hero Liam as usual.
Fuchs v Rooney hilarious.
Clark & McNulty more effective pairing than with Shanks.
Even much maligned Pawlett at 38 years old tireless although should have been hooked - if he hasn't got Hollywood's out of his game by now it's not going to happen.
Nice to see Sporle get 90.
Man U kid will settle in nicely.
Tam seems like a duck to water. Liked his wee draught excluder innovation.
Great blend of enthusiastic experience and enthusiastic youth all enjoying their football.
Going to have good selection problems.
Support brilliant !
Bring on Budgies.

Pawlett 38??😂😂
I said this before that Clark and Mcnulty teamed up well last season, as much as I loved having Shankland here (his first season at least) we are not going to miss him as much as we feared. We do still need another striking option though, hopefully we get that before the window closes.
Niskanen still to come in, hopefully makes his debut on Saturday as I'm in town for the game and looking forward to seeing what he can add.
All in all, a pretty happy Arab at the moment 👍

Good win against a good Saints team. Granted they looked a little jaded from mid-week exertions but we can only beat what is put in front of us.
Bar the Aberdeen capitulation, Tam is growing on me. Hopefully his interviews improve too. I thought we would only have a point at this stage (either a draw at Pitoddrie or Perth) so to have 6 is way above expectation. A sound beating of Hearts might even have me believing again.
