It was McNulty that missed.

No surprises really. Every UTD supporter knows we are a poor side.
Two ways to look at it spend all week moaning about everything at Tannadice or hope we can improve with a bit more confidence and hopefully a few signings and look forward to our 1st LC quarter final for 5years.

Fair play. I thought I'd read it on BBC...

It's the hope that kills you....

We're through. But that was garbage. Looked like we could play all night and not score from open play.
Courts needs backed by the Board and Asghar needs to do his job and get 1st team ready players in the door in the next 2 weeks. About 4 of them. This team needs creativity and goals pronto.
Otherwise we will struggle badly. That surely is obvious to most.

But Asghar's role is "executive leadership" (his words). Is it not the case that he failed to manage the budget last season? You cannot expect Ogren to put in any more money. The strategy is to do everything on the cheap. Maybe we can sell our top talent and wheel and deal on loan deals in addition to being consistently profitable, but, does anyone really believe that?

Listened on the DUTV channel and could have sworn I was listening to most of the games from last season as all the usual suspects were creating nothing , hardly heard them mention Harkes or Pawlett or anyone else for that matter doing anything positive. Very lucky to take it to extra time and a couple of saves from Benji helped.

I’m saying this from the perspective of someone that didn’t suffer the game yesterday but there’s Aberdeen went from winning 5-0 in Europe to punted out by a championship team and then there’s last years winners getting beat as we speak.
Maybe adds a bit of context to getting through yesterday.

What it does show is that there's a number of players in league 2 that could come into our team and instantly improve it.

Yep, worked a treat👍
It's not really a fair comparison though tbh, they have the luxury of being able to recruit much more depth to their squad than we have. Anyway they are out and we are still in is literally all that matters in cup competition.
We played shite and got through and are in the hat later. If we win the cup will anyone care at all about yesterday's performance?
We all know the answer 👍

I don't really care about the Diddy Cup. If we win it, it's a bonus.... I'm more concerned that the performance v ayr is closer to what we will have in the league. Play like that and we are in trouble.
What if the rangers win was the players Cup final?

I'm sorry but terms like 'Diddy cup' are very old firmish. It's a major national trophy ffs, we've won 5 of those in our entire history
We beat Sevco last week and got through yesterday, not seeing the problem.

Each to their own. It's a cup with very little prize money and no European place - the competitions reputation and importance for me is diminished.
From what I've seen (including the rangers gsme), the performances aren't any better than last season. Against the OF MM had battling performances.

Well we shall agree to disagree 👍

Every player, staff, pundit, fan and neutral all complementing united for last week but you think beating rangers for their first league defeat in 41 games was on a par with last year. Think that says more about you than united.

LILLEY , We did great against Rangers- I didn't say otherwise. Performance wise, we had some good games last season too though against the OF.(As well as performances that made my eyes bleed in others). We didn't get the result our play merited though. This game we did. However, rather than looking at 1 of my comments and looking at it on its own, tell me what you think. Other than the rangers performance, do you think our performances are good bad or indifferent and how do the performances (not results - as we've played all but 2 games v lower league opposition). Also, on performances, do you think they are top 6 performances - as that's what our target for the season is.
Arabdownsouth - happy to agree to disagree
