By that logic you will never go to a game again. Covid is here to stay, people will continue to get it every year just as they do the Flu. A week in bed feeling shite then back on with their life.
However each to their own if you want to stay in your house scared of the outside world it's up to you.
We could get numbers right down to zero, then crush localised outbreaks as soon as they pop up with short sharp circuit breakers. Much better than opening everything up at once and exposing the vulnerable and unvaccinated to Covid and Long Covid risks.
Have the vulnerable all not taken up their offer of a vaccination? Have the unvaccinated not also had their chance to be vaccinated? If so, that's their own look out. Why should the rest of the world have to slow down until they stop their nonsense and get the fucking vaccine. I've met so many people who come out with the nonsense that gets spouted on Facebook as their reason to decline the vaccine. One dimwit in my work won't have it cos he's heard it can cause cancer ffs, the fucking idiot smokes at least 30 a day 😂😂
Get the jab or GTF 👍

I know many with the same attitude. There is no denying the handling of this has been shocking at best by most leaders across the world, but to say its a hoax and its just another version of the flu isn't really accurate. You'd hope that these people would see sense in the awful situation of losing a loved one to the virus, but it appears not from the people I know. A pal of mine lost his uncle to the virus (51 years old - no underlying health issues that they knew about, fit and healthy, played 5s twice a week etc). And he still just said "he must have had something underlying we didn't know about". It's a scary attitude and the kind of attitude that has delayed us getting out of this quicker.
Granted, the decision makers have played a big part too, but last summer we got down to single figures per day in new cases in Scotland, and life was starting to open up again, but because people couldn't stick to the rules of maybe having 6 people in your house instead of 20 mates, or keeping a safe distance where possible, we ended up back where we are now. Its unfortunate but true.

The amount of 'Covid deniers' among young people is quite incredible, I've heard them saying that they refuse to social distance, wear masks and get the vaccine because it doesn't affect them.
They don't give one flying fuck about anyone else!
This latest variant is hitting them hard and in my opinion it can hit them as hard as it likes.

You seem like a nice person
Anyway.. good to see the good old working class sports of Tennis and the Rugby back to high capacity attendances while United remain with 500 attendees.

To be fair there was 40,000 at Wembley last night.

I would suggest that's more because Boris is needing the lift of English nationalism than comes with their side doing well than a reflection of the club football side of things, but I digress...

Totally agree mate. Poshos at Wimbledon and the Rugby are being given preferential treatment over us scummy football fans. However these are mostly fenced off events if you'd like. So if they let high crowds into these events its fairly controlled and manageable etc. You open up the football grounds its 20+ places across the country at the same time all allowing fans to come and go. Much more difficult to monitor at the minute, hopefully just a few weeks away from it not being an issue.
