Absolutely seek of this now. How come more people died from smoking related causes last year than died of Covid, yet you can still walk into a shop and buy a packet of fags?
If this is all about protecting the NHS, why not ban smoking then?
If we’re to believe that this is here for the foreseeable, then with the vulnerable groups all double jagged, why have so many restrictions. If it’s to protect the ones that have declined the vaccination then sorry, but fuck them, if they don’t want a vaccine then that’s their choice, but I shouldn’t have to suffer because of them.
Rant over.

I have a little bit of sympathy for the Government here. They have a legal and moral duty of care to everyone, including the unvaccinated. I am 100% pro vaccine but I also 100% respect the right of others to decline a vaccine. It can't and shouldn't be forced on anyone.
Unfortunately the downside is continuing restrictions, but I can see it from the Government's perspective. Just like the NHS can't refuse to treat smokers, drug misusers or alcoholics, they also can't just ignore the unvaccinateds health risks.
Also, there is no such group as "the vulnerable". Every single one of us is at risk from Covid and Long Covid right now.

I'm seeing 'Tickets for sale' posts on Fb re getting into the Berwick friendly.
Where's this coming from, are we allowed?
After 16 months incarceration it's weird to see tickets for sale all of a sudden.
It's saying it like we've never been away.
Are tickets on sale for Kelty?
What's happening?

are berwick in the english fa now? different rules?

From July 19th 2,000 fans allowed back into Scottish stadiums. I'm our case about 15% of capacity.
Meanwhile Wembley is up to 60% of capacity.
How much longer will Scottish football sit back and accept the shite thrown at it by this anti-football government.

Wonder if we will make a Special request to local authority for extra capacity to allow more of our season ticket holders in aslong as we meet certain requirements / criteria
struggle to understand how the crucible got full capacity - just under 1000 - for the snooker world final but we are only allowed 2000 at Tannadice

Enough really is enough.
They are gonna end up putting clubs out of business if this carries on much longer.
And it will be clubs of our size, not your Elgin's, Albion Rovers or Stenhousemuir's.

What's in it for the Government to be anti-football? I've heard folk say they are anti-hospitality too,
Genuine question, I'm not looking for a political debate.

The Wembley situation is because they have shat it that UEFA would take the final off them, so its a special case. Don't expect to see English stadiums much fuller than Scotland's when the new season kicks off. Any excuse to make it political though eh.

English football stadiums were already at 20% capacity in May.
Scottish football has been told it's getting 2,000 fans.
It certainly looks like English stadiums will be fuller than Scottish to me.
Online!
The 2000 fans is a starting figure, the clubs then have to apply for a larger capacity and show safety plans to be approved.

Nobody at a senior level of Scoottish government has any real interest in the national game or really appreciates it's importance to communities around Scotland.
Far more important to them is making sure it looks like they are doing a great job by keeping infection rates low.
With over 50% of the adult population now having received both vaccinations the time has more than come to let people get on with their lives.

Did you watch the update yesterday where she literally said that she wanted to get rid of all restrictions by 9th August because by then the most vulnerable will be fully vaccinated with both doses (3 weeks to take effect etc). Sorry to say this but there a lot more things important than football in this world. We've waited this long, we can wait 6 more weeks or so. The difference this time is we have an actual fix in the vaccine as opposed to last summer where we relied on people to keep the rates low. We'll be back in, we just need a little bit more patience. It's been so difficult but hopefully it is all worth it when we are back in.

Well said LEK. We're nearly there. It's going to be brilliant getting our matchday back so just a wee bit more patience.

So we are 'allowed' to have 500 fans in Tannadice for the League Cup (old school) games, around 4% of stadium capacity.
Hampden was around 25% capacity for the Euros.
The precedent has been set, we should just ignore the clowns in the Scottish government and open the gates.
I would very much doubt we would hit 25% of capacity any way.

Pretty obvious that Hampden was given a massive exception because of the circumstances.
This was always going to be the case with Dundee in level 2. The rules have been there for months so it shouldn't be a surprise.
After the 19th July Dundee should be in level 0 which pushes the numbers up. Then 9th August onwards the plan is no limits.
You might think they are 'clowns' but these numbers are no surprise to anyone keeping track of things.

Just because it's no surprise does not make it acceptable. Clubs like ours are losing significant amounts of money because of this.
A ballot for tickets for a match against Elgin City, unbelievable.
Myself and many others are double vaccinated, but still the government feel the need to tell me where I can and can not go.
I can assure you I am keeping a very close eye on things and I we have long past the stage where restrictions are causing more damage than the virus.

I 100% agree with you mate that in an ideal world the restrictions would have been gone a long time ago. But going by the Governments plans, come the 10th August the stadiums will be able to have no limits on them. It feels like a big jump from 500 and you would hope that it could have been 2000+ at least, but its small steps now to a massive step in August. So I don't like it, but after this last year I can accept it.

I think even 500 is too many, unless extreme caution is applied. I know numerous lads who went to London last week, every single one is positive and spend days in bed. Half of them were double vaccinated and the rest were single vaccinated. Every one of them caught it, got ill, and transmitted it to others.
If I get a ticket in the ballot I'll decline the offer, not until numbers in Dundee are driven down to about a tenth of what they are just now.
The Glasgow fanzones were wrong and reckless, but two wrongs don't make a right. Not by a long shot.
It ain't safe, folks. Not just yet.

That first paragraph seems a little on the far fetched side if you ask me. Cue the answer... I didn't ask you 😂

By that logic you will never go to a game again. Covid is here to stay, people will continue to get it every year just as they do the Flu. A week in bed feeling shite then back on with their life.
However each to their own if you want to stay in your house scared of the outside world it's up to you.

We could get numbers right down to zero, then crush localised outbreaks as soon as they pop up with short sharp circuit breakers. Much better than opening everything up at once and exposing the vulnerable and unvaccinated to Covid and Long Covid risks.

Have the vulnerable all not taken up their offer of a vaccination? Have the unvaccinated not also had their chance to be vaccinated? If so, that's their own look out. Why should the rest of the world have to slow down until they stop their nonsense and get the fucking vaccine. I've met so many people who come out with the nonsense that gets spouted on Facebook as their reason to decline the vaccine. One dimwit in my work won't have it cos he's heard it can cause cancer ffs, the fucking idiot smokes at least 30 a day 😂😂
