Given he has got a lot of experience I would not be unhappy with that but given he is currently involved with Scotland I wonder how accurate that is.
Better with Jim carver 🤣

Yeah, seems that is now the shout.
Was hoping if it is Courts we at the very least appointed an experienced No.2.

We can’t employ a 39 year old gaffer, tell the press to run with a ‘going with an experienced assistant’ then employ a 37 year old in that role...
Asghar & co have had a shocker here.
He wanted Courts & his young lad in, saw the backlash and pretended he was carrying out rigorous interviews with exciting candidates (really it was a scramble to find a number 2) and this is what we come up with?
To echo what I, and many others have said, I’ll back anyone in that dugout but I have concerns here.

I agree I will always back who we have in the dugout, my biggest worry is the pressure that will build if we make no signings and don't get off to a good start in the season. Not only on the management team but on those that appointed them.

I really fucking hope this works i really do.
Courts is being thrown in at the deep end here. Our club is a fucking mess behind the scenes. That cunt Asghar is throwing Ogrens cash about left right and centre.
I really fear for our future i really do.

Before the Ogrens bought United the wolves had both front feet through the doors at Tannadice and we were staring at insolvency. We have absolutely no choice but to back their plans for the club as without their money we won't have a club at all.
I think it's time United fans became exactly that.... UNITED. There are so many twisted knickers in our support right now and folk getting themselves in a right fucking state based on the assumption that this approach is doomed to fail. I don't believe for a minute that Mark Ogren is a fool and that self destruct is his plan for the future.
How many so called experienced managers get sacked these days for failing miserably? There's no guarantee of success no matter who we appoint. If this is to be the way forward then we have to stop bickering and get on board, simply no other fucking choice lads! Shed rule!

Well said. There's no doubt it's a gamble but sometimes gambles pay off.

Really not happy about this. Potential for disaster. However will have to get behind the manager and the team.
Massive risk for OUR club.

If they get a remake of the paint splatter strip as an away top, I dont care if Jim Duffy is manager 🤣

I'm somewhere in the middle of (i) jeezo, why take the risk and (ii) proven managers regularly fail (the majority of fans were delighted with Lazslo's appointment!!).
However, the big issues for me is the process form start to finish has been a sham and all the effort has went into covering up for the pathetic 'process' with total pish articles commissioned on behalf of the club. Just do things properly rather than doing them badly and trying to be clever with the black arts media pish. Even the article above rattles off a load of clubs that the guy has been interviewed for and presumably never got - that's what's meant to build confidence?
The boy has been offered an opportunity that he can't turn down. Fair play and good luck. I'm willing to give him time, remembering St Johnstone's start to last season.
Only other thought - have any senior players been consulted on thi. Their response to his appointment is what will make or break tis. If he can get them onboard and engaged, it will be evident to fans and therefore buy more time.

People are as you put it.. in a right fucking state because they care about the club. This season is the strongest premier league and most competitive for a club lile us for many years.
Courts i will back. Asghar i wont. I do not agree with his decision making. He has the wool pulled right ovet the ogrens eyes and the club paying ridiculous wages for a ridiculous amount of staff.

I've been a United fan for over 40 years, I care about the club as much as anyone. I'm also a realist and we are where we are and it is what it is. I don't believe for a minute that Mark Ogren is having the wool pulled over his eyes, he's a multi millionaire businessman for a reason. Do you honestly think he just sits back not giving a fuck while Tony Asghar runs everything? do you not think possibly that he might just be rubber sealing every decision? He might be on the other side of the pond but we have technology these days that can practically put him in the Tannadice boardroom whenever he needs to be.
A lot of knickers twisted over nothing but doom mongering and projection of what's to come. I say again, without Ogrens cash, we were fucked anyway. Our club would be gone already!
Time to get behind the club no matter what gets announced this week.

Fans were delighted when Brewster & Sturrock were appointed and both were an absolute disaster.
IMO Courts has as much a chance as Any more experienced manager of being a success, which in the current climate is lastly more than 12months

Imagine the uproar if we'd appointed Calum Davidson last summer instead of Mellon. Too young, first managerial appointment and yet 2 cups, fith place and European football until Christmas at least.
Truth is, no cunt has a clue whether this will work or not, but I guarantee there would be some folk unhappy no matter who gets the gig.
We have no choice and no real say in the decision, so we just need to get behind it no matter what happens this week.
I've personally had 40 odd years of highs and lows with United, some have had more and some less. Let's climb back aboard the roller-coaster and come what may, let's just be UNITED!

What does TA gain from pulling the wool over his eyes and hiring all these staff? I don't think he's doing a fantastic job either btw, i just don't understand the accusations as he'd have no motivation of taking all these risks and things backfiring on his watch.

No worries mate, it's not an ideal scenario by any means but it's been one hell of a year. We need to just be grateful that we still have a club to support and that there is a plan for the future no matter whether it's the one we'd hoped for or not.
I'm going to try to remain optimistic and hope that this new vision is an unrivalled success, wake me up when we're in the champions league please! 😋

I still struggle with people going on about Asghar ruining the club or however they see it. Give me one bit of proof that this is the case? Because sorry but there isn't one, whether you are his biggest fan or not, the club is a better place since he became involved. People moaning about the number of coaches and academy staff and analysts etc don't understand the reality of modern day football (in my opinion).

Courts & Fox almost official....

Overall, concerned but wish him all the best.
There are a good many youth-level managers and directors who know more about the game than half the managers get appointed nowadays. There are also some out and out numpties who see success because they've been the beneficiary of good youth recruitment which is worlds easier than senior level recruiting.
Concerned with the role of Asghar/Ogren in the appointment and whatever reasons are behind this. I want the young lads to develop and play but not at expense of success or for them to be shipped off at first opportunity. The tell here being that the hiring process was a closed shop the whole way through. You dont have Courts already picked if you dont have some overarching reason behind it and if it were just about success on the park, you'd have opened it up.
One question I need answering before I can get behind him is: Are you incentivized on player sales?
If not, cant be upset with him for taking a good opportunity and hope he succeeds obviously.

So its Top Cat right enough.
Congratulations Tam. I'll give you my full backing.

Agree with most of this. The comparison between Ogren and Ashgar is a harder one. Difficult to know who is best suited to select a Manager/ Head Coach for a Scottish Football Club. Trouble for Ogren is, that he appointed Ashgar to run the Club, so to speak.

OK so now we have a manager again, let's get this show on the road.
Hopefully we sign some decent quality where it's required now.
