Premier Sports Cup

https://spfl.co.uk/news/date-set-for-premier-sports-cup-draw

Draw for the group stages takes place next Friday.

First match day is the weekend of the final of the Euros.  Football not really stopping at all this summer.

Re: Premier Sports Cup

With the Group draw tomorrow and assuming United are top seeds and Dundee are second seeds as the seedings are not confirmed yet who would be happy with the prospect of a group stage Dundee Derby at Tannadice.

I would not mind a Brechin or Montrose in the group either.

Don't want Dundee.

An early season Derby loss could be very demoralising for the squad and new Manager.

Exactly! Perish the thought we could actually beat them. A team that's just been promoted and has been our bitch for decades

We might beat them. They might beat us.

But a defeat to them early in the season would be demoralising for the entire club. Whoever is in charge needs time to work with the players and make signings before we play such a big match.

It's just common sense.

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Very good draw.

Kelty Hearts, East Fife, Arbroath and Elgin City.

4 wins and progression in the league Cup would be a good start for the new Manager, and a confidence booster going into the start of the Premiership season.

Not progressing from that group is unthinkable.

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Definitely a good draw. If I am remembering correctly, we've failed to progress from the group stages the last 3 years in a row. But this group is clearly easier than all of those. Expect us to win all 4 of those games, but allowing for some pre-season rust, 3 wins and a draw will also be enough.

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Very happy with this draw as it was as easy a group you could get I guess.

It should be a decent first few games for the new man in charge whoever that maybe.

It really has to be 4 wins from 4 in the group this year.

To fail to get out that group would  be unforgivable and unbelievably embarrassing.

As long as we are prepared for such an eventuality.

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Just over 3 weeks till the tournament starts and our 1st game of the new domestic season against Kelty.

When are the clubs and SPFL going to announce if any amount of fans can attend these matches?

And if none can. Why?

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Yeah countdown 21 days & still not a cheep.
Might they be waiting for a Euros report, like if London comes alive today we'll not be getting into Kelty?

Re: Premier Sports Cup

Right now we are in level 2 which is 500 fans. Level 1 I think is 1500 fans and level 0 is 2500 fans? Could be wrong but I'm sure I read that.
