8,000 fans in Wembley yesterday for the EFL final.
I look forward to the SNP reasons why Scottish football fans can't be trusted to attend matches.

It really is time that real pressure was put on them to start letting some of our fans in NOW.
And that includes in the Semi's and Final. The SFA need to move the games away from Hampden, to allow us to get fans in attendance and make these games a spectacle, as they should be.
Absolutely no reason why say around 5,000 supporters from each side couldn't be dotted around Ibrox or Parkhead.

No supporters for the final due to UEFA taking over Hampden for the euros. No idea if this also affects the semis though.
I heard this but really did not understand it. It looks a very poor excuse. Why does UEFA having control of the stadium allow the game to go ahead but does not allow fans to enter? And if that is the case, surely the SFA could accept it is a much better spectacle at another stadium with 5000 - 10,000 than an empty Hampden for the sake of having it at 'their' stadium with no income at all.
Why can't the game be moved to one of the 2 other stadiums in the same city (that will now have no interest in the final - fucking LOL)

Can we make an argument for the semis to be played at Ibrox / Parkhead as test events?
Use the Carabao Cup final as blueprint. What was it, 2,000 travelling fans each & 4,000 locals? Show you’ve had a negative test etc.

While it's true Hampden will be out of use, its not confirmed there will be no fans, the final may be moved to an alternative venue. Jason Leitch confirmed as much at the weekend (although it's up to the SFA to propose a venue and lay out suitable arrangements, crowd numbers etc), and the Scottish government may make an allowance (as per the Euros which will have at least 12500 fans.)
The semi will come to soon for fans.

I'd like to hire Micky Mellon and the squad a Time Machine, so they could go back to August last year, and play the Season like they played the day. Phuckin outstanding.
My only complaint is we shoulda had a couple mair.
MOTM for me McNulty.
My MOTM was the Blackpool Tower.

Been a long time since I came to work on a Monday still buzzing about a United performance on the weekend. Delighted with the result but even happier with the level of performance and the discipline to stick to an effective game plan. Every single player worked their balls off for the team, which I think is a very good sign that they have confidence in MM.
Also been a while since we had a manager that seemed to be able to modify tactics to suit particular opponents, or to move to a plan B during a game. Kudos to Micky. A Neilson team wasn't going up there and bossing a team that almost beat Celtic 4 days previously.
It's been apparent for a while now how Micky wanted us playing but it hasn't quite been clicking all over the park. On Sunday it came together. Great to watch, and if we play like that more regularly, we'll start to create more quality chances for Shanks and get him back among the goals again.
Hard to pick out a MotM - Edwards was immense, McNulty caused them problems all day but Harkes shades it for me.
Clancy was very poor, and that's being generous. Either extremely gullible or actively looking for opportunities to penalise us and give Aberdeen opportunities. I'm going with option 2. People used to say "Aye, but referees are only human and they are influenced by the home crowds, especially in Glasgow". That might be true, but that clearly can't explain why some referees continue to make an awful lot of mistakes that favour one team over another when there's nobody in the ground.
Great post CA. I actually agree about the referee. Yesterday I was screaming at the tv with some of the decisions he made. You even saw our players almost laughing at them.

One instance where Shankland was having his shirt pulled and went down on the edge of the box, nothing given and the commentators didn't even mention it, although they showed a replay.

Hibs in the semi, thoughts? I think it's better to get them now tbh and being the underdog may suit us better anyway. Real chance of winning this thing in my opinion.
Nothing to fear from anyone now. Jack Ross has a tendency to go negative in big games so hopefully we can exploit that. Sunday's performance should be a massive confidence boost for everyone at United.

Yeah I agree and hopefully Mickey will have another game plan.

Mickey is a thinker and able to get plans across to the team IMO, particularly in big games. Rangers and Celtic at Tannadice good examples, last game at Ibrox as well when we should have been 2 up. He got that narrow formation spot on which was the polar opposite of what every fan was shouting for.
It's Hibs to lose ultimately, they're 3rd in the league, have a fairly strong, settled team and have 3 goal scorers in their ranks. But it was Rangers to lose before Sunday night......

Worst possible draw in my opinion.
With them finishing 3rd we would have been guaranteed European football till at least Xmas if we'd met them in the Final (win or lose).
Not confident of victory over them, due to their firepower.
But then again i wasn't confident in 2005 SF either, and for the exact same reasons.
Ach we'll see how we go.

I don't think that would have been the case Tek. Europe goes to the team finishing 5th in the league if the cup winners have already qualified and not to the beaten finalists.
I think we have a chance tbh, we had no chance in 2010 against the old club but that turned out well enough. I had a feeling in my bones that year and I've had the same feeling this year too 😋

Hope your right ADS.
Don't know why but I just feel we can beat Hibs.
Gutted about the decision to play at Hampden with no fans as I had my hopes up.

ADS is right, the runners up of Scottish don't get in anymore, after QoTS and Gretna they started to make moves to assure it was only the winners who got in. I'd rather have avoided Hibs also but tbh we've hardly been dazzling against any of the teams left in it.

I think so too, it's tough but not many gave us a chance against the sheep shaggers and look how that panned out. Underdog tag suits us fine, much less pressure for us than them. And a potential chance to right some wrongs in the final too if we can make it there.

I meant to reply to this at the time.
Actually unbelievable. Should have been a fee-kick to Utd in a very dangerous position, and a yellow to the Aberdeen player in question. Foul given to Aberdeen.
Guess who our Ref is tomorrow?
