Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

Even if we don't progress in cup we have 4 fixtures between now and May 16th.
So personally whilst I'm no fan of rotation we have to rotate in order to respect the league as best we can over the period.

More importantly we have to put best possible team out against Sheep on Sunday.

So my money's on resting Reynolds.
Likewise Liam and Pawlett who've heel niggles after f--king 4g debacle v Forfar.
Benji out obviously, fingers crossed for Sunday.
So for me run on will include:

Deniz
Edwards Connolly Robson
Harkes Butch Fuchs
Louis

Hope Kilmarnock go down, simple, less plastic = less injuries, better football. Won't happen, Wright too savvy + Lafferty's too much of a wild card.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

Wasn’t going to bother paying Killie for this, especially as we are safe, however seriously swithering already on the morning of the game .

Think I might succumb too. Is it £15? 19:45 kick-off. Killie will be desperate for 3 points, maybe we can use that to our advantage? Or maybe not, Lafferty hat-trick & all that...!

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

I'm swerving it.

We never play well on their patch and Killie are desperate to win.

Can't see anything other than a Killie win.

I'll be watching and I hope he does gave some game time to the academy players as he wont get a better chance than this with the pressure being off.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

Much better in the second half. Young Meekison did well. Young Smith gets 90 minutes at cb.

First team well rested especially Benji hopefully ( please be fit lad ).

Sheepshagging bstrds up next. Need to be up for it , concentrate and do the biz.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

Result i expected.

Glad no-one else got injured. Have to hope Siegrist, Chalmers and Pawlett might make the squad for Sunday.

p.s. would have wee Archie Meekison on the bench on Sunday.

Good to see Meekison get on the ball and try to make things happen as not seen much of that this season. Can't say we missed Butcher tonight.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

I've got some concern over the financial situation. We're all aware that the Club is not on a great footing.

On that note, worried how much the drop from 7th to 8th will cost us in price money.

Its barely 100k. Not to be sniffed at. But not much to overly concerned about if it means trying to through on Sunday.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

were they targeting our left side or just coincidence that the 3 goals came from there, again?

No coincidence every team we play targets our left side. Robson is just not good enough.
No1 priority in the summer is a Left Back.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

I disagree. The manager wouldn't pick him every week if he wasn't good enough.
The opposition targets our left my arse.
I could have sworn that the goalkeeper was at fault with the first goal & it was Fuchs who conceded a daft penalty.
Nah, Robson's fault. Bothof them. Targeted you see.
Sorry to disappoint his detractors but Jamie Robson is on the road to having a very successful senior career.

He picks him because there is no-one else.

There hasn't been for 5 years. Which is a ridiculous state of affairs.

Re: Kilmarnock v Utd - Wed 21st April

I thought Kerr Smith could have done better for the first goal as he could have made it more difficult for McCulloch which I'm ok with as it was a massive learning curve for him coming up against a striker like him. Also an inform striker unmarked in the box for the 2 nd goal.

Robson Smith and deniz could all have done better at the first. Robson to stop the cross, deniz to not flap at it and Smith to not shrink under it. Robson and deniz should have the experience to do better - Smith can be excused (also connolly should surely be picking up their main threat - not a 16 yo laddie)

The second, lafferty runs from the half way lune with no midfielder tracking him and arrives in the box with our centre 2 marking the same player

The third is awful soft even had it been the other way I'd not be 100% convinced

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

The penalty looked soft cos it was so needless. Burke is in the corner of the box heading out of the box and tripped from behind. Totally needless tho still a foul inside the box. I'd have been well wanting it at the other end. Fuchs needs to improve on just going round snapping at everything.
