We were better in the second half but overall performance was well below what we should be capable of.
Bolton again left me wondering how the hell he’s on Man City’s books!
Really difficult to choose a man of the match, maybe Shankland for his goal - but nobody played well I didn’t think.

Absolutely awful performance. We really should have been at least 2 down and out of the cup. Nobody deserves man of the match. Let’s hope Liam Smith isn’t out for long.Â

I think deniz being in caused numerous moments of confusion and the defence didn't know what to expect. Second half was much improved but I'd like to have seen more.
Jeando didn't get going at all....(like the rest)

Yeah I don’t think there was any reason to leave out Benji, we never left any other first choice players out and the goalkeeper is the last one who needs a rest!
Big improvement needed from everyone in next round and also for rest of the league season.

Positives:
- Cocked up time difference and missed first half.
- We won
- Looked better once Sporle dropped back & Robson off.
No an awfy lot more.

Has Mellon said that he actually rested Siegriest?
Perhaps he had a slight knock and dodn't want to risk him?
Offline
Don’t see any reason why we should continue with Bolton and McNulty as I can’t see what they bring to the team and don’t think they will be here next season so why don’t we give the likes of Appere and Chalmers the game time to see if they can step up before we strengthen for next season

Yeah, might be the case.
Any word on Liam Smith? or Dillon Powers (who once again was nowhere to be seen)?

Watching that my mind went back to the 91 Scottish cup when we were seconds away from going out to East Fife after an abysmal performance amd then went all the way to the final.
The morale of that memory we are in the draw tomorrow.

Get rid of mcnulty, Bolton, powers and many more at the earliest possibility when we are completely safe
Absolutely shite the most of them, we will never improve

Actually thought that we played well for the 1st 20 mins, then we kinda went to sleep.
When Thistle scored, I actually thought that Deniz's shoulda jumped and grabbed the ba, but efter seeing the highlights, I'm no so sure.
Again I thought we played well for the 1st 20 mins oe the 2nd half. Then it settled again, but relieved and grateful for Shanks quick thinking for the equalizer.
Bizarre coming together we the Thistle boyo and the keeper, to give Clark the open goal. I actually thought at the time, that Clark had fouled the boy, but a wins a win and aw that.

Maybe Mcall will take us to court and try to have them take our place in the next round. Scottish cup postponed until the outcome is known. Fuck thistle and fuck that wee cunt too! Shed rule!

Thought the decision to play Deniz was poor HOWEVER we were playing a league 1 team that we should have easily put away so you can understand Mellon's thinking. Maybe Benji had a knock but hopefully MM doesnt mess around with the goalies again.
Bolton had a horrific first half but seemed more comfortable in the 2nd. I think it highlighted how decent a right back Liam Smith is. Incidentally, I assume Smith was one of the two players who became/or are in the process of becoming Fathers this week.
Robson is the other, and Mellon said around Thursday that his partner was still in labour, which tells us he didnt train much this week - so why was he on the pitch? He was atrocious and I have no idea what he was doing for their goal. It was clear that he looked rusty and ill-prepared for the game.
Seeing Fuchs, Butcher and Harkes in the starting 11 was disappointing. We only needed two of them.
McNulty playing out wide right - what is the point? I get it if we are playing a decent team in the league, but if you are playing a right winger, then you have Chalmers and Appere on the bench that were better options than McNulty. I dont doubt his effort but he constantly loses possession and he constantly plays passes in poor areas that put his team mates under pressure. Pointless.
I posted a team at the top of this thread and I don't why he didnt just go with that (with Bolton in for Smith) as it gave us the best chance of controlling the game and having real threat in the final third. Yesterdays team was a line-up I'd expect to see against a Hibs or Aberdeen away, not at home to league 1 side.
We are in the hat, and I didnt let the performance ruin my night (i know some that it did), but fuck me that was an awful watch.

Utterly dire in the first half apart from short spell at the beginning. Much better second , Mickey must have roasted them at ht.
Overall not good enough I feel but hey ho we are through.
Fuk Jobbie McCall and the Plastic Whistle.

Agree about McNulty but we might need Bolton until end of the season depending on what is wrong with Liam Smith.

There was some talk about him becoming a father this week so may well be on paternity leave rather than injured.

Watched replay o' goals - we have been shite at dealing wi long throws for about two seasons now - basic.
We all agree ( I think) that we need someone down the left. Starts at the back, like what it does down the right.
Not gonnae happen wi Jamie there. Exit Jamie, Fermers would be a good fit for a Coupar Anxious laddie . ...

Someone on EF has posted a picture of our shot that was cleared off the line, saying we deffo should have had a penalty. From the picture I'd say we should have had a goal not a penalty. Sorry still no idea how to post a pic so can't put it up 🙄😋

Yeah that's the one. Not conclusive obviously but I'd be confident that ball is over the line personally.
