Not a post to wind folk up but is he starting to get a style of play which will pick up points and not make your eyes bleed to watch?
Maybe I'm giddy after the win but can also thought mcnulty was pretty decent today

I think Mellon has been very good. Can't remember a Utd manager having less money to sigh or spend on players.

Brought in 2 pretty decent players in Edwards and Fuchs too 👍

I’m starting to warm to him...

It's got better for sure since the Ross County game. Defensively we are miles better than even when we were playing 5-4-1. Midfield to front is still an issue, good decision making and accurate passing like we saw at the goal is still far too rare.

I was massively Mellon out at one stage, but he seems to have turned it round- good on him
Let’s finish best of bottom 6 and kick on next season
And please fucking sign wingers micky, cheers

The way we've played over our last 6 games are more like the team we want to see. Constant high press, mostly solid defensively all we need now is that consistency of the quality we saw for the goals yesterday. If we can add a centre half at the same level (or better) than Edwards, along with an effective winger to the current squad then we finish easily in the top 6.
Yeah I think we've turned a corner. Had we played like this all season instead of since the start of February (I think the 2nd half at M'well in the game we actually lost 2-1 was the turning point) we would have been a comfortable 5th in the league. Mellon deserves a lot of credit for his persistence, remember what a horrible season it has been to arrive here. Roll on next season, every reason to be optimistic. And there's this season's Scottish Cup, you never know.....

Overall I've said from the start that MM being a very experienced manager is exactly what we need atm. I believe his calmness in victory or defeat is always the way to go.
However if for example we don't win any of the split games the MM is not the man for the job boys will be back.

I think we will win at least 2 of the games after the split, although I'd be happy with a couple of draws if it means a cup run instead 👍

I'm still not totally sold on Mellon, i'm not going to lie.
I still have reservations about us going forward with him as Manager and in particular the style of football we will play under him.
But he and the players do deserve credit for the upturn in our fortunes since County away.
He also does deserve a proper transfer window in the Summer to try and bring his own players and mould the team into his own.

Don't think it's any coincidence that form has picked up since we have had nearly all the squad available for selection ( apart from Chalmers ) and fit as MM's hands were tied for a good part of the early season with injuries and as ADS says the signing of Edwards and Fuchs have made a difference once they have got up to speed and match fit.

Today, Jim McLean wouldn't have lasted 6 months.
Folk were more tolerant then & there was no soshilmeejashite.
Had he got the early bullet we'd be Albion Rovers now,
Mellon will get the sack one day, not just yet but one day.
Sad.

There were fans calling for McLean to resign early into his tenure.
Leedsy (when he posted here) told a story of how he was part of a group chanting 'McLean Must Go' after a game and Wee Jim called him into his office the next week for a 'chat'.
Social media can be a cruel place, but i've also seen a lot of praise and adulation towards players/Managers etc.
Truth is football fans have always been a fickle bunch and for some of us (myself included) progress never comes quick enough.

I think he's done an ok job in that we look all but safe now. He's not had any money to play with, but outside the old firm no one really has. We also have one of the better teams on paper.
I think his negative tactical leadership has had an impact on me from day one. I know someone will say the aim was to stay up, but I don't completely buy into all that. Definitely teams in the league that we should of been confident that we had a better squad than.
In the end my positive outtake on MM is that he steadied the defence recently and learned how to see games out from a winning position. Next season will be his real test. All going well covid restrictions will be gradually getting lifted in time for next season, getting fans back to the ground, and the chairman can hopefully risk putting some money on the line on the transfer window. Once it's MM's guys are in we can see what he's really all about.
Fully behind him but not fully confident in him!

IMO he has held us back from a top 6 and potential European spot. But yes i am happy with our positioning to date and that we are basically safe as was the aim for this season.
Hopefully a good bit wheeling and dealing in the summer and we can kick on next season.
