For me, the same except Pawlett replacing Clark and playing number 10 behind Shankland. We've nothing to lose and everything to gain this weekend even if top 6 is one in a million I really hope Mellon goes for it.

I'd like Appere in for Clark and have Clark and Pawlett on the bench to come on and make an impact if we are struggling.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

I think Fuchs might be suspended? 6 bookings in the league since he signed.

Think it might be game after Saturday.

He's certainly not on this weekend's SFA Suspension List.

Could well be mate. Just assumed as its usually a game or two after the 6th booking and its been 3 weeks since Killie this Saturday. Fingers crossed he is available!

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

What Aberdeen are going to turn up? Shackles off post-McInnes and looking to impress any potential watching manager or a rudderless side, devoid of confidence and direction?

Delighted with that result today. Thought Fuchs was very good.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Big game, big win. All but safe. Hopefully we can go on a run in the Scottish cup now we have absolutely nothing to lose and nothing else to concentrate on.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Very well done to united. I thought we were c good second half and hopefully this win brings a bit of confidence. On a poor run or not, aberdeen couldn't be discounted and there was potential for them to kick on after mcinnes getting the heave ho

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I'd love to see us really attack in our remaining games and give it everything we've got in the cup too. Nothing to fear now so let's see if we can end the season on a high. Well done Micky Mellon, kept us up which was the primary objective this season. Wasn't always pretty but then this last year hasn't been pretty for anyone and we would all have taken this outcome back in August.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Very satisfying (and deserved) win today.

To not have conceded a goal against Aberdeen all season is a great stat.

That will be the club now safe and i just hope now the pressure is off we can go out and enjoy the remaining fixtures and score some goals, free from the pressure of relegation.

Well done to Mickey and the players for turning things round, because the night we took 5 at home to St.Mirren i genuinely feared for us.

But we now look a hard team to beat. A good starting point.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Just one draw turned into a win away from top six, fine margins.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Over the phuckin moon we that.

Actually enjoyed the play the day. Pretty much end to end for a lot oe the gehm. SSBs didna impress me.

Great build-up for oor goal fae the coarner and the by-line. There were a few moves like that during the gehm. The only thing lacking was shots on target, and the nearies were frustrating.

Stonewaller pen. for me for the elbow in the pus on Fuchs.

We ah kinda knew that top 6 was looking doubtful. But just shows ye. The rubber johnies pip the post for 6th takin it fae thug-pus.

As Morph says, we can hope we might hae a no bad Cup run.

MOTM for me Fuchs.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Fuchs - what a boy for chasing their full back down on the by-line to start well worked move for Sporle goal.
Abidy else didnae even see it was on - immense wee man.
Sporle for me always looks ungainly, but hey who cares as long as he's puttin them in the back ae the neck and smile on the dial is great.
Ref got it right for their guy's flop but bewildered how he never gave the body check on Fuchs.
Well done Mr O, Micky, Frail, a' the boys over the course of the year

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

That was the first time we haven't conceded a goal against Aberdeen in a league campaign since season 91/92.

Not a bad stat.

Sporle, absolutely love the lad, something so different, always seems to score, should be starting every week till end of season, with a view to really kicking on for us next season at left mid

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

One thing that hasn't been mentioned amid our great win.

Where were Dillon Powers and Peter Pawlett on Saturday? Neither were on the bench.

Both injured? Need both back if we are gonna have a proper go at the Cup this season. And everyone else to remain relatively fit.

You could be right about Pawlett, he can make a positive impact probably as an impact sub.
But I don't think MM sees Powers as a player

Must be both injured then?
Didn't Powers suffer a bad head knock?

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 20th March

Micky confirmed in his pre-match presser that Pawlett was a doubt.

And yeah Powers obviously collapsed at home after a head knock that no one noticed and ended up in hospital so I can't see him being rushed back.
