Shankland was brilliant today - not just his goals, he put in a power of work. Harkes very good and Butcher too- two players who have had a lot of stick recently so fair play to them. Louis put in a great shift too. Fucking magic.

Great performance against a decent side. Well deserved 3 points.
MOTM for me Shanks.

Brilliant team performance with a few brilliant individual performances for Butcher and Shankland for me.
not a failure on the pitch for us, referee shouldn’t be at this level. None of them were sending offs.
Free hit a Snake mountain next week, get wired right in.

Delighted with that. Buried the ghost of our previous games with livi and back to back wins have definitely lifted the gloom. Now we need to be looking upwards not down for the rest of the season. Well done to the team and management today, hope this gives Shankland the confidence to start scoring regularly again and bolster his transfer fee in the Summer too.

Credit where it's due.
Last week and today are two very good results and performances, that have all but kept us up.
One more win should do it.
The players look much happier playing 442.

Superb win, whole team brilliant! Having butcher and fuchs in there makes a massive difference
2 reds are dreadful decisions, would expect both to be overturned
Mellon in 😅

Think MM got it right today with the substitution after Pawlett got the red. Glad he kept the 2 forwards on as I thought he would go with another defender and 3 at the back. Good performance and LOA man of the match for me with Edwards not far behind.

Great result today, well done the players and Micky Mellon.

Enormous credit to MM today. Right starting team and bold decision to go with the subs he did even with Sporle starting well and scoring.
Soft goals and issues with set pieces tie in with Edwards out the team. He was good today. Butcher outshone Fuchs in the middle. Wee man looked a touch off it and possibly carrying a knock?
Shankland was great today. Even if he never scored, he was the best player in the park by a mile.
As stated, credit to Harkes. Best game in months. Reminded me of his first couple of games where he was tireless but also effecting the game in the right ways.

Great watch, everything clicked.
MOTM Shanks great to see him in the goals with two peaches.+ Great in midfield.
Some lovely through ba's.
Constant intelligent running off the ball by Appere, especially for Shanks' first.
Great team performance.
Good to see Pawlett getting in aboot. He's been much improved that way past couple of games.
I didnae see it but apparently Sporle spat the dummy when hooked, under the circumstances - good on him, typifies the fight and backbone of whole team.
Got to give Butch, Fuchs a mention.
Ref - twat. Out of hees depth.

What a pass from harkes for the 2nd!

Sliderule it was Tangy.
Laurence didn't half appreciate it either, points to Harkes straight away.
Now if he got more service like that his 7-goal tally would be doubled & heading for 20 SPFL Prem goals.
Harkes had to win the ball first, on the halfway line, got the break of the ball.
Harkes for Pawlett next Sunday?

Much better today .
However just as I said calmness was needed after getting 5 from St mirren calmness is needed now.
There's still 9 games to go, if we lose 5 next week will the MM has to go he is clueless brigade be out in force.

I think next week is a free hit so shouldn't be to much over reaction to a defeat if we do lose. So long as we get in about those horrible cunts and don't give them an easy game I'll be happy enough.

It’s an interesting game. Have we learned anything or improved generally from the last trip? I don’t think we’ll be so naive.
Harkes in for Pawlett with Appere and Sporle wide would be my thinking after yesterday. The trial by sportscene analysis meaning the red card won’t be overturned.
Powers not even on the bench yesterday, not sure if injured or bombed completely. Think he’s suited to these games and wouldn’t be against him coming in. But certainly Harkes done enough to retain a place.

I think round pegs in round holes is what's making the difference. Leave McNulty and Clark on the bench if only playing one up front next week. Sporle very unlucky to be the one who had to give way yesterday but an inspired sub all the same. I'd love us to pick up something though, maybe title nerves kicking in plus the two europa league games might be to our advantage?

Sit in and frustrate them, and counter when in possession next week, we were far to open last time and tried to play them at there game, will never work
Another thing from yesterday Sean Dillon is brilliant on the commentary, loves the shed

Same team next week. Harkes in for Pawlett.
Not expecting anything other than an improvement on our last visit to Ibrox. We should be better though, Shankland is on form and we have Fuchs.

100% Super Mario. Sean is an absolute toff, he's brilliant. Nicest man in the world too.
For the future...I hope he is in the employment of DUFC in his favoured role for as long as it suits him.

Harkes for Pawlett next Sunday?
I agree Harkes in for Pawlett next Sunday. I've been critical of Harkes this season but he played his part yesterday and we need energy all over the park next week. It would be great to get a point down there.

Maybe Harkes playing in front of Fuchs and Butcher will be the making of him. He has never seemed like the type to be suited to a deeper midfield role. In games like next Sunday, 3 centre midfielders is definitely a must and Harkes will be the one expected to get up and support Shanks. He is not everyones cup of tea and he might not be a player that starts for us every week, but its a team game and someone like Harkes coming in and having an impact in 4 or 5 games can make all the difference.
Look at Clark. Our top scorer. If it wasnt for his goals we'd be down in the scrap. Cant even get off the bench now. But his time will come again this season I'm sure.
Having decent players around the squad is massively important. Sporle, Pawlett and Appere barely feature for weeks and then become first choice. We need to rotate at times to get our form back which we have done. And done really well.
McNulty and Clark will be back in the team eventually and its just all part of how football works. At least we've proved we have options.
All credit to Mellon for the tactical change yesterday. I expected him to just go 441 and hang on. But the 432 is a great way to deal with being down to 10. I felt for Sporle but going by his DUTV interview he was absolutely fine. But I hope he starts against Rangers out on the left. A goal and assist in his last 2.5 games. Credit to Appere who ran his socks off yesterday. There is definitely a good player in there and he is learning more and getting better with every appearance. You'd have to argue he is the best foil for Shankland that we have.

Totally agree we should improve with having a midfielder who is comfortable on the ball which will help ease some pressure instead of us just giving up the ball when we get it.
Do you think that we will appeal the Red card given to Pawlett ?

What a difference the last week has been much improved.
That wee bit of quality the we have been missing was on display yesterday. The touch and finish from Sporle, pass from Harkes and Shankland finish were what we have been crying out for.
We have 4 tough games before the split so hopefully confidence is on the up.

Top6 bottom6
What odds on St mirren finishing 5th us 6th and livi 7th before the splif? They've lost a couple now - maybe their turn for a run of poor form?
Or are they too far ahead?
