Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

Far too soft and that is the most worrying thing from tonight.

I keep hear players say they are tight unit well we never seen it tonight, that ref should have been surrounded after they decisions. Reynolds just threw his hands up and had a half heated moan at the ref.

The last goal, fuckin hell Harkes needs to bring him down, he had two chances and took none of them.

Apart from that our passing was amateurish , and the amount of wee flicks drives me up the wall.

We are right in it and will only get out of it in this league by rolling up the sleeves and getting wired in.

Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

That’s never a 5-1 game. Some shocking passing, granted. But we started pretty and our play was very decent for 25 minutes. Another headed goal has killed us. Then 2 penalties that in my view were never pens. When you think of the two we had refused from McNulty and mcmullan in the last few weeks and compare them with those 2, how’s your luck!?

The second half was poor and the fact we never managed more pressure after scoring was disappointing but we had to chase the game which left us open. The 4th goal is a counter when we’re still in with a chance. The 5th is a total kick in the balls. Very poor and no arguments there.

I’m far from happy with that but think a bit of balance is needed in light of the score.

If we’re gonna play a back 4 we need round pegs in round holes and tough decisions made on team selection.

Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

The penalty Beaton turned down was the only fair one of the three.
Then they go upfield & score the opening goal & 15 mins later it's 0-3.
Their first penalty was as soft as it gets from these ones from a corner, Reynolds had little hold on their man who just fell on cue.
Then Laurence catches one underneath the oxter & it's 0-3. Nonsense.
Why don't we appeal these decisions more, ok it maybe does no good but not appealing makes it look like they're fair awards.
The one we didn't get would have put as 1-0 up & it's a different game.
To be fair our play did look a bit same-same the first half hour but if Power's shot had gone in again it's a different game.

Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

Never seen the game due to work.

Horror scoreline.

I will say though that after being sent the goals via whatsapp just there, i don't think either of their penalties are legitimate. That cunt Beaton obviously can't wait to blow the whistle. And the game is over at half time.

I've felt for a number of weeks we will get dragged into a relegation dogfight and it would seem that will certainly be the case.

I fear for us.

It was a horrible result and performance tonight. I may have over reacted a little though and still feel we will scrape enough points to survive. No way we finish top six though, that's a pipe dream now I'm afraid and if Benji goes we are going to have to start scoring more goals 100%

Staying up has always been the goal this season and in my opinion one of the main reasons we have amassed 28 points is due to our Keeper.

It will be very tight and one thing is for sure is that Hughes will get County scrapping and Accies will do what they always do. From what I have seen there’s nothing in it between us County and Accies and it will be who wants it most on matchdays that will be the difference.

Saturday will tell us a lot about this squad of players and hopefully we get the reaction that will see us pick up a few wins between now and the end of the season that will see us stay up.

Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

Terrible result, awful performance. I can't take much more watching the triangle passing game in our own half which ends up in giving possession away every fckn time, in our own half!!!!!
Having said that, no way Beaton was letting us win with 2 decisions that are so bad it's borderline cheating.....and he books Shankland for deliberate handball ffs.......

Re: Dundee Utd v St Mirren 27/01/21

Absolutely horrific from us last night. Jamie Robson had one of his worst games in a tangerine jersey. How long does he get away with this when we have a perfectly able backup (and a better footballer all round) in Sporle sat on the bench most weeks.

When the team was announced I was happy to see a back 4, but if that is the outcome then you know what, go 352 the rest of the season please and bore us all to safety. I'll take that right now.

Major performance needed on Saturday. If we manage to somehow get a win then 3 points from these two games this week is what I expected, but that performance scared me and I hope its scared Micky too.

Hopefully Fuchs and Butcher are back in that midfield asap. And Edwards needs to come back in.

Back 3, normal wing backs, Butcher and Fuchs centre midfield and then Clark sitting behind McNulty and Shankland. If we can get that team on the park then we'll scrape enough points to be ok. But I am really worried about the rest of the season. You do feel as if we are only 2 or 3 wins away from safety. But where are these wins coming from? Hamilton away and St Mirren home should be 6 points. 4 points minimum worst case. We've come away with 1. Its unacceptable and Micky and the players must share the blame. We only had 1 academy player starting last night and he is 23. Loads of experienced pros on that pitch last night and they have let the club down, every one of them.

History tells me that we won't get the reaction we are hoping for sadly.
