Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Supposedly there is torrential rain coming on Boxing Day.

Hope the game makes it.

Same starting XI as yesterday, if possible.

What forecast are you looking at, mine says light rain showers & a fresh breeze?
Wouldn't go building an arc yet.

Was going by the lovely Judith Ralston who was telling Scottish BBC viewers to brace themselves for 'Storm Bella' on Boxing Day.

Would seem the West of Scotland will bear the brunt of it though. Only moderate rain predicted for Dundee area.

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Same team for me and hopefully the same result. If i was to make a change it would be Sporle in for Bolton as i feel he is more likely to put a quality delivery in the box.

Fingers crossed for another 3 points. It is days like this however that i am gutted we cannot go to the games!

A glance at the weather forecast should help you overcome that feeling 😉

Very true, however Im sure that a few festive pre match drinks in Frews would have helped with that!

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

The lack of quality in some players is alarming. Robson, Mcmullan & Butcher in that order were the worst offenders today.
The bottom 2 lost, we didn't.  Could be worse.

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Not great but another point on the board. Motherwell should have won that

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Well we had an absolute stinker today. And we still came away with a point. Hats off to Mellon who made positive changes and to the players who never gave up.

Fuchs was the only player on the park for us today. He was outstanding again. He is shining a light on how awful Butcher is imo.

Clarky again proving his worth.

To play like that and get a point - we have to be happy with. Happy Boxing Day lads and lasses.

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

How did Connolly no get the "goal kick" call ?
How was Bolton 'no Connolly goal side of their boy Watt when he headed in resulting corner ?
Did our level best to give them a second.
Love child Pawlett a waste of space as usual although I think he might have been involved  in run up to equalizer ?
Don't know how Edwards is getting splinters, he's got a bitty more composure (no saying much.)

Fuchs a class apart.
Clark sure footed and clean striker of ball, instinct for getting in right pace and giving himself that
split second.

Hibs at times took us to pieces.
This time we took ourselves to pieces.

In both games we came back and were resilient enough to get the point in injury time.

Beats years gone by when we could be a goal or two up going into last 25mins & contrive to drop points.

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Quite poor i thought. Fuchs a good performance for us

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

A good point in a very frustrating 90 mins, between us failing to do the basics and Motherwell time wasting it was not an enjoyable watch.

McMullan kind of a summed up our performance as a team, capable of brilliance and showed it on occasions but when it really mattered served up shite. Totally pointless skinning a player if you cannae make the right pass or get the cross by the first man.

Clearly Fuchs has a few of us eating Humble pie and I admit I had my doubts but he showed some glimpses of class today that we ain’t seen in a midfielder since Armstrong left. Really looking forward to seeing him progress and becoming a mainstay in our team.

4 points from the last 6 and on to 25 points from 20 games, another 4 wins and a few draws will probably be enough to keep us up fingers crossed.

Keeping the ball will need to improve in the next two matches if we are to get anything, far to often we give it away too cheaply.

Re: Utd v 'Well - Boxing Day

Woulda sayed the Well were the better team the day, had they no kept fah-in every time ane oe oor players got near them. Spoilt the gehm.

Been thinking for a while, that we've no been putting enough bas inta the box. We improved in that respect the day at least, but the quality oe the crosses and the coarners wiz below standard.

Like a new squad when Clark came on, so for that and the fact he got oor equaliser, he's MOTM tor me.

No getting the 3 points was keich, but it was'na the saddest news the day.
