On paper that's our best result in quite some time.
Was xmas shopping all day today so never seen any of the game but hearing Benji kept us in it.
He's became our most important player imo.

you heard right, countless saves to keep us in it.
would have taken a point before the game.

Benji was outstanding today. Fear he’ll be gone soon if for nothing else but to bring some badly needed cash to the club.

He’s wanting away in January.
He’s too good for this team in reality. For my money he’s the best keeper in the country at present, consistently pulling off saves he has no right to make.
Best keeper we’ve had in 20+ years.

Woulda bit your hand aff for that result the day.
1st half, we couldna get the ba, and we couldna keep the ba.
2nd half. 10 times better. Even better when McMullan and Bolton came on. In fact I'd say we were the better team from that point onward.
Based on the performance, the point is no less than we deserved.
MOTM for me, Benji, for the number of top class saves he made, saving our bacon in the process.

Let’s be honest here, Seigrist has saved us from getting a hiding there, best keeper weve had in a long long time
Another week goes by where I’ll come on and say this 5 at the back needs binned ASAP, you seen when Bolton and mcmullan came on the difference it made, we actually got up the park! Within about 2 mins of them coming on we got 3 corners
If Mellon opts to go with 5 at the back on Wednesday, he should be sacked on the spot
nevertheless, great point away from home

Watched Mellons interview after the game and he says we were not set up to be defensive in the 1st half which is a bit bizarre considering I would put only Shankland, Clark and McNulty as attacking players that started the match. He needs to start getting his act together and quick, the next two matches will be massive for our survival chances and 3 points from one of them is required.
He also says our performance deserved a point which is complete nonsense that was smash and grab stuff and we know it.
Going forward we need to bin this 3 centre half’s epically against non OF teams and try and inject a bit of belief into the midfield, when he changed the formation we got lots of opportunities and possession but squandered them through poor passing and crossing.
All in all though it’s a point that I was not expecting but hopefully we learn for next week.

Just had a quick look at the league. Jeez its tight with no real candidate for automatic relegation. From motherwell in 5th, there's only 8 points to last. From motherwell to Hamilton (11th) there are 4 points.
No wonder micket doesn't want to risk us taking a doing
I'd say Ross County are a real candidate for automatic relegation.

The back 5 didn’t work today and the only reason we were still in the game was thanks to Benji. I’m not convinced either though that stating with a flat 4 would have led to a better result. Going toe to toe today from the start would have been foolish I think so fair play for starting that way and opening up later.
I think all we can hope for is the lesson that it can work and attack may be the best for of defence in certain games. Also, in fairness, having a stronger bench allowed us to make tactical changes and have a plan B for today which we’ve been robbed off recently.

depends on if they make the right call on the new manager, and if they can afford to bring in their usual 10 players in the window,

Benji - amazing, has been all year.
Cannae mind o' a better keeper his height get down so low, so quickly, with such agility.
No' tae mention his reading of stopblocking situations.
Hope we don't lose him January, but if we do, hope the lad gets out of the fishbowl.
This was 95% world class, the only slight blemish maybe being their goal, which I think we could well forgive.
Testament to the class of Alexander.
As for the rest we stood and looked at them first half.
Second half subbies worked well, altho' Gomis' performance was second only to Benji.
Nicked a well earned point in the finish.
You don't score if you're no in their box after 90.
If you don't score you don't take the point.
There's flaws, but if there's one thing Micky's drumming intae them it's self belief in the shirt.

We obviously looked much more attacking when we moved to a 4 at the back, however the amount of times they got in behind us was terrifying. I hope fans done expect to see us line up with anything other than 3 at the back on Wednesday, because I'd put my mortgage on it that we will.
The difference we need to make in my opinion if we insist on playing the 3 is putting McNulty right up beside Shankland, instead of playing out on the right and working back to defend. Similar with Clark. Play him in the 10 so he can drop into midfield and link the play. I have no problem at all with a back 3, as long as we utilise the players we have in that formation as almost a 3-4-1-2. When we defended yesterday we were basically a 541 formation with McNulty and Clark wide midfielders in the 4. I'm ok with this away to the top 4 but its not acceptable against any other team in this league in my opinion. We need to use the benefits of that formation which is being able to push the wing backs forward constantly and having central options for them to supply.
Our next two home games are massive, against teams very close to us in the league. We have more than enough to take 6 points. If I'm honest, offer me 4 right now and I take it, but 6 is a definite possibility.
With 5 games in 15 days I'd be surprised if we dont mix it up at some point in terms of personell. But I think he'll keep the same starting 11 on Wednesday, hopefully with the tactical changes I've mentioned above.
Also, go and watch our goal from yesterday on repeat a few times and look at individual players reactions when it goes in. Every one of them absolutely buzzing. Great to see. Butcher moved faster than he'd moved all game to be honest! But a great wee show of how much it meant to the boys. Team spirit can get you a good few extra points in a season and I feel like we have it in abundance.
Lastly, on Micky Mellon. I cant figure out how I feel about the manager yet. There is no doubting he seems like an absolutely brilliant guy. The players seem to be singing his praises. He changed it very early yesterday (he said on DUTV he was tempted to change at HT but decided to give it 5 mins) which we all like to see. I feel like he wants us to play a brand of football that will entertain the fans, but we arent really executing that yet... is it down to him? Or do we not have the quality of player to do this? He comes out with some comments in interviews that baffle me, but other times I feeel like he absolutely hits the nail on the head. Would Robbie Neilson have us playing any better? Potentially. Would we have picked up some of the scrappy points we have like yesterday? I'm not so sure.
