On Saturday (7/11) Cammy Smith played the full 90 for Ayr Utd in their 0-0 stalemate at home to Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship
_________________________________________________________
In League One Kieran Freeman played the full 90 minutes in Peterhead's 3-2 away defeat at Montrose. Chris Mochrie also played the full 90 for the home side in a match where he provided the assists for the Gable Endies first two goals.
At the Balmoral Stadium, Ross Graham helped Cove Rangers register a clean sheet on their way to a 3-0 home win over Forfar Athletic. The win keeps the Aberdeen side top of the Division with 4 wins out of 4. Florent Hoti again didn't feature for the away side from Angus.
_________________________________________________________
And finally for this weekend Archie Meekison played the full 90 and again scored for Spartans FC in the Lowland League but his goal was merely a consolation as the Edinburgh side again slumped to defeat. This time 3-1 away to BSC Glasgow.

Hoti is self-isolating due to being a close contact with another Forfar player who later ended up being diagnosed with COVID. Nobodys fault. Seemingly ok to come back this week though.

On Monday night (9/11) Jake Davidson played the full 90 for Waterford FC against Finn Harps in the Irish top flight. But it was a final match defeat for Waterford as they lost 1-0 to end their hopes of European Qualification for next season.

Last night (10/11) Ross Graham was a half time substitute for Cove Rangers in Group B of the Betfred Cup. But his appearance couldn't help his side on the night as they went down 3-0 away to Dundee at Dens Park.
________________________________________________________
Also in Group B of the Betfred last night. Florent Hoti played the first 66 minutes for Forfar Athletic in their 3-3 draw against Brora Rangers of the Highland League. The Loons won the penalty shoot-out to claim the bonus point. Hoti set-up Forfar's opening goal in the match.
_________________________________________________________
In group C, Nathan Cooney was an unused sub for Kelty Hearts in their 1-1 home draw against Peterhead. The away side claiming the bonus point with their penalty shoot-out victory. A result that keeps them alive in the competition.

And finally, in Group D, Chris Mochrie was not in the squad for Montrose in their 2-1 away defeat to Stirling Albion as he was 'Cup tied' after appearing for Utd against Kelty Hearts last month.

Yesterday (Sat 21/11) afternoon in the Scottish Championship, Cammy Smith fired in a goal for Ayr United after just 3 minutes in their 2-0 home win against Dundee. The win takes 'The Honest men' into the top 4. Dundee languish in 7th.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Chris Mochrie played the first 74 minutes for Montrose on Saturday in their away match in North Lanarkshire against Clyde FC. He scored Montrose's 2nd equalizer of the match (a fine right footed low strike from the edge of the box) but the 'Gable Endies' couldn't hold out for the draw as Clyde registered a 3-2 home win. A David Goodwillie hat-trick giving the men from Cumbernauld the win.
Also on Saturday in Scottish League One Florent Hoti started for Forfar Athletic in their 3-1 home defeat to Airdrie. He was however substituted after just 36 minutes and my Forfar mole tells me that he wasn't injured and instead was subbed off because he 'didn't look interested'. Not great (if true). The defeat keeps Forfar rooted to the bottom of the table.
It was a better afternoon however for Kieran Freeman who played the full 90 minutes for Peterhead in their 1-0 home win against Dumbarton. The clean sheet and 3 points moves Jim McInally's charges up two places in the division and out of the relegation play-Off spot.
Ross Graham was an unused substitute for Cove Rangers in their 1-0 away defeat to Falkirk. The men from Aberdeen remain top of the table however.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
On Saturday Nathan Cooney was an unused substitute for Kelty Hearts in their thumping 5-0 home win against Cumbernauld Colts in the Lowland League.
And finally for this weekend. Archie Meekison continued his sensational goal scoring form for Spartans FC as he blasted in a hat-trick in the Edinburgh men's 4-3 away win against East Stirling in the (wait for it) Soccer Shop Direct Challenge Cup.
Spartans found themselves 3-0 down at the Falkirk Stadium after 46 minutes but produced a superb fightback to finish the match 3-3 at full time. Young Archie blasting in the winning 4th goal in Extra Time to complete his 1st career hat-trick.Well done young man. Utd will be recalling him in January at this rate.

Mochrie goal at 3.24 is a cracker

Great to see some youngsters getting proper game time. Freeman, Mochrie and Meekison look close to being star men for the teams they are loaned too. And Ross Graham, although in and out of the team a bit, has still gained some serious game time so far at Cove who are flying. Great to see.

Just got a feeling that we’ll never see Hoti playing for the first team.

Doesn't sound like he's got a great attitude. Very peculiar signing I'd have to say.
With all due respect to your mole Tek I'd be very surprised if Hoti got hooked on 36 mins for not looking interested. He would almost certainly have received a knock but wouldn't have made a meal of it when coming off. Don't want to start spreading rumours about this, Hoti is a 19-y-o professional footballer who's ambition is to represent Kosovo internationally. We had the benefit of having him on a fortnight's trial (not a youtube signing) & if there had been any doubts about his attitude I don't think we would have been daft enough to give him a 2-year deal in the current circumstances. Go on yersel Florent

Rumours are what makes Football Forums tick.
But i wouldn't have posted the above if i didn't believe the person who told me, he was subbed off for his poor attitude 100%

A boy who has played very little football thinking he is coming to Tannadice to get a game for any international team is living in cloud cuckoo land. He seems a very strange one to me. As said by someone else on another forum, someone will have done OK out of the arrangement...

Which makes me think this must be truly unique.
In the history of football I have never ever heard of or seen a player being substituted in the first half of a match for looking disinterested. That would be some body language - sitting down sulking on the halfway line maybe with his back to the play?
Had this any truth I think we may have heard about it mainstream.
Anybody from within Tannadice (or Station Park) dispel this rumour please?
Or, if confirmed, the boy needs help.

Plenty of players who don't put the effort in on a regular basis at all levels. If the boy genuinely has ability then I hope we can put the proverbial arm around his shoulder and try to steer him onto the right path. If he doesn't then get rid.

Rumours and insinuations are maybe what makes a forum, but it doesn't help a young player's outlook.
From my own very limited view, Hoti appeared to play as well as any Forfar player on Saturday, showed a bit of skill, but took a knock. He wasn't the first player ever to be substituted in the initial half of a match, and it'll happen again soon enough. I'm not making any of this up.
A thing I will say regarding sending him to Forfar, he's not going to progress greatly there unless they change the coaching staff, which is likely soon. The 'encouragement' from them seems to involve inane drivel and swearing.
Here's a still from Station Park, Hoti is number 7. He's just received a throw in 25 yeard out on the left, carried the ball into the box, played a one-two and struck the bar from an acute angle. Forfar scored their only goal from this move.
I've seen United supporters on other forum suggesting he was taken off the pitch for not trying, but I doubt any have bothered looking at his contributions for Forfar on the available evidence, preferring to complain on the basis of very little. It's as though we prefer a good moan to giving considered opinions and credit where it's due.
Finn, I wonder if you are suggesting Florent Hoti is at the club to line Tony Asghar's pockets: who is it that is doing "OK out of the arrangement"?
Finally, if anyone is interested in seeing Hoti's assist on Saturday, which I'm sure we'd be raving about if one of our players had done the same at Tannadice, you'll find it starting at 3mins 28 secs here (and if you want to understand what I mean by the Forfar coaching staff, give the first half a listen):

Fair comment Pat and you are right my tuppence worth was only supposition based on hearing what others have said. I'm not convinced by the recruitment policy that has brought him to Tannadice and I do have concerns (as voiced by others as I said) but I guess that is not the laddie's fault. I do think it is wrong to be talking about international football for an inexperienced youngster like Hoti - and that is part of the problem - the club bigging him up to appease the fans - which was always going to backfire given where he appears to be at in the pecking order etc. As to the who benefits, I took the same assumption as you from the comments I reported - maybe the obvious target but it may be that it was intended to cover his agent, parents, A N other who knows...
All that said, I am delighted that rumours of his attitude problem seem to be wide of the mark here. I hope the boy does improve here and gets his chance for Kosovo - that would be a great story for him and us. I can see that the Forfar experience is going to be an interesting one for him - here's hoping he takes the positives and ignores the negatives. Chances are he won't understand what is being brayed from the sidelines (it is Forfar after all) - which is probably just as well!

The 'rumour' was started by Forfar people btw. Are they making it up?
As for their coaching staff being the problem. Utd sent him there. Maybe be 'exasperated' with them?
In post # 36 Tek you also say that the person who told you said "he was subbed off for his poor attitude 100%".
Do you want to double check?

Hoti played today against Dundee, quite a remarkable recovery.

Forfar were 3-1 down after 20 mins, could the manager not just made changes to his formation etc and Hoti was sacrificed to avoid a pumping and to make them more solid, it worked cos they never lost anymore goals.

If United staff look in here, as you've said, they'll know what I think of the way the Forfar people deal with players.
I don't know if the Forfar people are 'making it up', but it would serve their cause to blame the players, assuming 'Forfar people' refers to Stuart Malcolm's coaching staff. The Forfar staff have an abysmal record.
Anyway, the two points you've covered there are very minor parts of my post.

I don't know, I've seen players taken off and play a few days later. What was his injury that made his comeback remarkable?

That could well have been the case, Shedtastic, I don't know if he was injured.
My frustration stems from the apparent need to have something to complain about: this week as we sit in fifth place and on a mini unbeaten run, it's the turn of Florent Hoti, and by extension some United staff, especially Tony Asghar. Yet there's no reason at all for these criticisms, and, in fact, Hoti provided one of the few highlights for the Loons on Saturday, as revealed by the YouTube coverage, above. Liam Smith was getting a major condemnation as well after Saturday's victory, even although he was instrumental in the comeback.
I dread to watch the state of some supporters when we inevitably lose points over the next month or so, and fall down the table.

Don't disagree with the majority of that, but the fact that Hoti was not what the club sold him as is true and his hiring did seem a little strange given what we really needed. I therefore disagree that you shouldn't question the signing policy and by dint of that what was behind it.
As for your own negativity, (inevitably falling down the table), you need to give yourself a shake - we're set for Europe...

Sheez ! 16 comments on Hoti !
- With the best intention in the world not nobody gets all signings right all of the time. Somebody's seen something in him.
- As Finn says give the boy the proverbial pat on the back and failing that get rid.
Which brings me to Glass (who I've banged on about) - I was really pleased to see in Mr O's last report, the very first thing he had to say was a big genuine shout out to young Deco and how pleased he was to see him up & running & full of smiles. Good stuff Mr O.

I've shaken myself, Finn!
Still don't think we'll finish in the top five.
I recall Hoti signing, the club talked him up in terms of potential, but why wouldn't they? I think some of the words printed and said have been taken and twisted as assurances, which they weren't: you'd have to be very naive to think Melon and Asghar were making guarantees for this season for a lad who isn't yet 20.
I think it's fair enough, however, to question the club's signing policy. But we'd all be best agreeing to disagree over the dealings regarding Florent Hoti.
