His 2 goals today have put him on 31 goals for Dundee United so far in his career. That's the same amount as Billy McKinlay.
And more than.
Lawrence Shankland (30)
Maybe time some of our fans cut him a wee bit of slack? His goalscoring games/goals ratio for Utd is not bad at all.

Agree 100%. Excellent Premiership footballer

Always been a fan. I know he’s not the greatest footballer we’ve ever had but he scores regularly and some important ones too. He’s decent in the air for a wee guy and links up well with whoever he’s paired with - Shankland, McNulty and even Appere on a few occasions last year. Seems to have a good attitude and is popular with the rest of the squad. Also very reliable from the penalty spot under pressure - his goal at Dens last season was massive. Keep it going Nicky.

Also has a good deadball, which puts him head and shoulders above the rest of the squad on that score.

Couldn't tell you exactly which posters, but it's a common theme across a few different boards. Some cunt on EF wanted HIM subbed at half time today, thank fuck he's not the manager. Apparently he did fuck all for 75 mins, then won us the game in the last 15. Said it before and I'll say it again, I like strikers who score goals and that's exactly what he's been doing this season. Anyone who doesn't rate him, just take a look at the Premiership scoring charts and give your head a wobble.

I am sure there was a thread on NC a few months ago where there was a difference in opinion between some on this board.
Anyway this season he has been a very important player for us none more than this afternoon. Last season our form nose dived without him when he got injured at Firhill.
He is one of those players who you would hate playing against, wins silly wee stupid free kicks where he lured in big clumsy defenders into fouling him, good on set pieces, scores goals, is very deceptive in the air and wins lots of knock ons.
Hopefully get the half century in 2021.

Still reading folk questioning after today is weird as fuck. Said it before, one of the first names on the team sheet for me every week.

Very underrated player Nicky Clark. Scored many important goals for us, like yesterday.
Remember when he was out injured for a bit, grief did we miss his contribution or what.
Very good signing for us.

Aye, well done Czaba
An especially good second goal from Nicky Clark yesterday, and he has got a few which has secured points this season. Quite a few times I've thought Clark's contributions would mean his opportunities would be limited, but he's been one of the positives of 2020 for me, badly missed following his injury last season too.

Laszlo made a few good signings to be fair to him (Clark, Safranko, Siegrest, Bouhenna, Stanton, Mohsni, Ralston) amongst the bad one's.
It was just him that was the problem.

For Clark, that’s 2 against Hamilton, 3 against County, 1 Vs Livi, 1 vs St J off the top of my head in the league. One away from home and none against teams currently in top 7.
Not a criticism just an observation of his season so far. A good player who will win us points in the games we need to win this year. Probably not the type of maverick that’s going to get us goals against the bigger teams. That is probably to do with where we are as a squad and they way we play in those games. Not productive for a striker at all.
Fair play to him so far though, long may it continue.

Not that it matters but Mckinnon signed Stanton, initially on loan. Maybe CL made it permanent?

Just checked, my mistake. He was a McKinnon signing.

He was never much good anyway. The rest of the list could play in the top league with reasonable levels of success, but not Stanton too lightweight.

Mixed messages here ?
I couldnae care who the goals are against as long as they're in the back of the net.
It's only because of Clarke 's goals that there are only 4 above us, give him opportunities, the goals will come. Give us an 89th minute pen to win at iPox - who're you gonnae give the ball to.
And as for maverick ?
On the park first goal move started with him ten yards in our own half and ended with him digging the ball fae the net and sprinting to centre circle to get going again - reminded me of John Daly v AEK.
.. Actually taking the Daly parallel further, Daly had his detractors too and ended up a vital cog.
Off the park he invariably comes up with responsible, articulate interviews, he's a respected senior member of the squad.
No "maverick "
" Not a productive striker at all " ?? Whit ye on about man
Long may it continue - Yes

Some very good points.
The lad behind me. In the Dode would often refer to the big lump of wood or Donkey. Daly like Clark are both very much team players.

No sure what you mean Tek ?
Ok " Not productive for a striker at all" - same difference.
- "Where we are as a squad" Think he's become a fixture in starting XI as well as great squad man.
And to say Clarke's " not the type of maverick who will get us goal against the bigger teams" - that was crystal. I agree he's no Cifti, (who is !) but he is on present form most likely.
