Rather have Edwards than Connolly that's for sure.
Reynolds for me looking steady. Liam has always looked very calm & steady
Defensive midfielders: Powers getting more of a run would help at the back.
Throw Fuchs in the mix and we now have selection quandry & options - got to be good.
Micky's moulding a solid & improving side. Our biggest difficulty's gonnae be the likes of Livi that sit in - same as last year.

Livi didn't sit in last game at Tannadice

To be honest I can't see much difference between Edwards and the £5 million rated guy Celtic have just loaned Duffy.

The Duffy performances show that it does take a bit of time to settle into a new team and that Scottish top division football isn't as easy as some people down south think it is. However, I know which player I'd rather have in our team - no disrespect intended to Edwards who I still think will turn out to be a decent acquisition.
You know what we're needing?
A Fojut type.
Anyone remember why Fojut was off-ski half way thro a 2-year contract?
I liked him.

Yeah I liked Fojut too but think it was something to do with his wife not settling in Dundee.
I was just pointing out that even though your valued at around £5 million it does still take time to settle and I would take Duffy too if I had a choice as I'm sure MM would.

I'm in the Duffy camp too.
Our man is no bad in the air but isn't quick & can't tackle.
Sorry!

Like the majority of our squad, he's got some decent qualities and some areas that seem to regularly let him down. Hence being available to come to us on a free.
He's certainly not shite compared to some of the CH's we've had recently. The problem is his weaknesses can be exposed fairly easily and require a good bit of mitigation from the rest of the team. Done by either more numbers at the back i.e. a back 3, pacey covering players i.e. full backs able to tuck in or shielding CM's in front. All which could potentially limit us in an attacking sense.
Unfortunately VDV was unavailable on a free transfer to allow us to push full backs high and still play with 3 strikers.

I woke up in cold sweat the other night after having a nightmare about a front line of Van Der Velden, Paddy N'Koyi and Emil Lyng

Don't know where to begin with this. Even if he weren't doing anything else, the most important thing is goals. They all count, and it's exactly what you want from your striker.
Like a fine wine...

Have to admit he's starting to prove me wrong but he still has a bit to go...............
