Young 15 year old defender who was excellent in the friendly against Sheffield Utd is reported to be possibly leaving Utd.
Been on trial at Man Utd for a week but also wanted by Aston Villa.
Hopefully we can somehow convince him to stay at Tannadice.

The Tully had him confirmed out the door about 2 months ago so it's good he's still here at least. It's easy to see why he would want to go down to one of these big name teams. Negatively for us in this circumstance, Scott Banks is getting a lot of bumming up from Palace at the minute and in fairness, looks to be developing too. It's easy for Smith to look at him as an example, the money being earned, the London lifestyle etc and it becomes a pretty hard sell for us.
Ideally, he's a gem and stays with us and develops. If he goes, the only reason anyone knows his name is these articles linking him with a move so no real tangible loss.

I don't think he can actually leave until he turns 16, at least not to sign terms anyway. So not sure if him still being here is actually a sign of his intentions.

So if the choice is go to an academy down south and get paid multiples of what you would get at Tannadice or risk the manager sends you off to play for Broughty Athletic for a season and the injuries you might pick up there and never get the chance of down south again then there isn't really a decision to make is there?

Well, much as I'd like the boy to stay, I know what choice I'd have made. Then again I left home at 16 anyway and haven't played any real football since so wtf do I know? 😂

If we give this boy any minutes in the 1st team before he hits 16. And he then subsequently signs for a Man U, Villa or Everton.
Would it bolster our development fee?
p.s. only advocating him getting on bench and then getting game time if we were in the position of having the game out of sight (which won't happen much this season admittedly).

Are we entitled to a development fee? I didnt think he had signed a pro contract?
Nae idea how it works

I think we only have to offer him a pro contract to be entitled to a development fee.
