Don’t get this fascination everyone seems to have with moving Butcher to CB. He’s absolutely brutal at CB, we’ve all seen plenty evidence of this. He also deserves to be dropped More than anyone, his lack of effort recently is pathetic.

Something needs to change, and butcher going back one frees up powers to play with Harkes, why not try out in this game? Butcher played 2 games at centre half last season?? Dundee 6-2 and possibly one of our best performances last season 2-0 away to Dunfermline

As SuperMario has just said, Butcher played a handful of games at CH last season and was excellent in them all, Dunfermline away in particular. Yes it was at a level below now but he did well there.

It has to be tried mate as nothing else is working.
One clean sheet in ELEVEN matches. Something has to change.

There's absolutely no substance to the view he's butal at centre half? My only fear is that he, like the others, will have games that suit him where he looks good, as opposed to just being a very competent and rounded centre half.
We'll learn nothing from playing him there against KH but it gives a chance to build a partnership.
Re a comment further up though. Harkes and Powers played together at Dunfermline away and we were beyond hopeless. Willing to give them another chance but certainly didn't look a winning combo that day.

Anyone else worried about Tam Scobbie? He will be desperate to prove a point against United, and will no doubt manage the Kelty defence brilliantly.
At the moment I wouldn't mind him back!

Why so negative?
Tam Scobbie was shite, I'm not worried about him, where is the negative?

I'd be trying to change the areas which have been most clearly bringing us problems.
Mehmet
Smith......Neilson...Butcher....Robson
Bolton....Powers...Mochrie....Fotheringham
McNulty...Appéré
That sort of team won't happen though. However, I quite like Morphman's suggestion of putting Lewis Neilson into midfield too.
EDIT: I'm assuming Clark and Sporle are injured and we've not been told.

Hopefully a few changes from Saturdays shambolic at home to Peterhead.
Hoping to see McNulty get some game time.

Here is some highlights of Kelty v St.Johnstone from last midweek.
Finished 2-1 St.Johnstone.
Kelty's weakness looks defending set-pieces and crosses into the box in general. Something we should be looking to exploit.

They'll be saying exactly the same thing about us 🤣

It’s honestly like everybody’s forgot his first stint at the club. There’s a massive amount of substance to suggest he’s brutal at CH.

What has to change first and foremost is concentration and effort. No way I’d be rewarding Butchers recent lack of effort with a starring jersey in any position.

This.
Don't see it as a "fascination" re Butcher at CB.
More a simple observation - he can kick a 'ba.
- Unlike Connolly/Edwards

Ah, you mean around 7 years ago when he was circa 21 y/o and barely played any games?

What an utterly embarrassing team selection. Won’t be bothering spending £12.50.
