If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Not too bothered? We are desperately short of wingers. Whether he is a world-beater or not, letting him go to one of our close rivals would be a terrible decision in my eyes.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Mcnulty rumours gathering pace. Take away the issues with match fixing (alleged) and he'd be a good signing. A bit of a mix between Clark and Shankland.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I'm relaxed about him staying, but probably happier if he left to make way for someone else. Hopefully his staying doesn't prevent us bringing in someone who would do a better job for us.

I'd like to see him dig in and prove that he has got what it takes at this level of course.  An on form week in week out McMullan would be better than most players in our price range.  The whole team is blowing hot and cold (mostly cold) this season though, so it would be a pleasant surprise.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Is anyone else worried about McNulty in, Shankland out?

Not really, because if that happens I'm switching allegiance to womens volleyball.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Hoping that Shankland will be around - put it this way if Burnley were looking at him on Friday they're unlikely to have been overly impressed.
Expecting to be underwhelmed today but looks like we are at least trying to do some business (both in and out) so fingers crossed we are a better squad by the end of the day.  If McMullan isn't in MM's plans I hope he takes the hint and goes.  His lack of a final ball means the things he is good at are pretty worthless in this league.  If Ross County think they can get a tune out of him then he should snap off their fingers.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I suspect it will be Marc McNulty and that will be it.  Premier League winger they had targeted doesn't want to move to Scotland.  There is still another option but unlikely now.

Latest from Burns

Ridiculous if true. Doesnt want to move to Scotland? Finding that out on the last day of the window is amateur stuff

Waiting till the last day of the window to find that out.

Dearie me.

Quite ridiculous we haven't signed a left winger once again. How many windows is that now where it's been a priority position?

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Happy with signing him however quite disappointing if we only see McNulty coming in today.

Also expected to see some depart.

Agree TEK that we are crying out for a LW but they must have had some encouragement from the agent that it was a possibility. He maybe got a better offer financially and closer to home
Agents do have a reputation for talking shite mind you.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

No arguements about his quality from me. On paper it's a good signing for us.

My only qualms are the betting thing hanging over him. How gutting would it be if he is found guilty of these claims and faces a long ban? I'm assuming his loan agreement would be torn up immediately. Though fingers crossed there is nothing in it.

The only other issue is of course. Who is delivering the chances for him and Shankland? As there is zero creativity in midfield.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Is it not the case still that clubs may agree to part company with players after the window, if they have got their own targets sorted out by tonight? Therefore free agents become available.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Mickey thanking Mark Ogren for making the signing happen.

Sounds like our owner has put his hands in his pocket and financed the signing himself. Fairplay, if so.
