So have we paid a fee for him?

I read something about this during the last week. Had to translate it, but I read that we've got him for nothing initiallybut we have to pay percentage of any fee (40% iish).

I did read an interview with his agent from May/June time where very large fees were mentioned.

40% of what fee?

Any future transfer. Sorry should have been more specific.

So if we sell him for 1 million pounds in a year get 400k and 600k goes to Alaves.

Good deal for both parties tbf. But i'm taking it that means we haven't paid a transfer fee ourselves for his services.

More like Alaves are using Utd as a shop window to recoup some money for a player they have deemed surplus.

Wouldn't that be the other way round? We'd give Alaves 40%, so £400k to them in your example.

Yeah, you're right.

I read Tannadechee's post wrong.

So 40% of any future fee to Alaves.

By the looks of it that's a fair assessment although figures would be other way around, I can't find the article that mentioned the suspected percentage of fee, but this was from a French football site

Jeando Fuchs did not last long at Alaves . Arrived in June 2019 from Sochaux, his training club, the Cameroonian international midfielder is already leaving the Spanish club . He who had already been loaned last season to Maccabi Haifa (7 games played) will this time be transferred to Dundee United , which should soon formalize his arrival. Even if the player was under contract with Alaves until June 2023, the transaction would be done without compensation, but with a percentage on resale for the Basque formation.

This was from back in June in an interview with Getfootballnewsfrance.com with his agent

Can we hope that he returns to France this summer? Might we expect Alaves to demand something like €5m in order to let Jeando Fuchs depart?

No, no, no – I think it will be a lot less than such a sum. But as you said the economic situation in France… no doors are closed, if there is a question of need in his position. Because Jeando wants to play a maximum of matches, so no club will be considered if they can’t guarantee a certain amount of playing time. We are lucky that this has been a season where not so many matches have been played, as a result Jeando has not lost much ground on others with this season at this stage of his career. He was in fact ahead of colleagues at his age before this season. But the idea has to be accentuate his advantage over others, not limit it at each point.

Looks like we may have guaranteed him playing time.

Re: Summer departures/signings/rumours thread

Seems we are still keen on Marc McNulty according to the record.

I hope I am wrong, but just have a feeling we will end the day with no additional signings.
