Southgate has to get special dispensation to attend games as England manager. It’s even stricter up here so I’m not so sure they’re going to let scouts from every team that fancies a nosey in.
Scouts are allowed in, there was a wolves scout at the recent Raith Rovers reserve game at Tannadice

Would quite like the club to deny they are to be honestWe are a selling club. Of course we will let scouts in.
Championship clubs looking for him would need to cough up 2.5-3 million imo.
I just hope if he goes this window it isn't on the last day and we're not scrambling about for a replacement.

Well Scott McKenna his fellow Scottish Internationalist is going from Aberdeen to Forest for reportedly 6M+ add-on's.
So that amount maybe isn't unrealistic.
I just hope he stays however.

If I was Shankland I'd want to stay in the Premiership at least until the next window to prove I could score for fun in the top tier too. That should be good financially for both him and the club, so should be a no brainer unless we need the deal done now due to financial imperatives.
Unless silly money comes in, or an offer for a club to big to refuse of course. We've seen plenty of players take the coin to go and warm their bums on the benches in Glasgow over the years though, so not sure I am the best judge of what a footballer would do.
He reminds me more of Gauld than of some of those players though

Given the ongoing uncertainty around fans being back and what that means for club coffers I think that this is going to continue to be a curtailed window. That has to apply to others too so I hope that means we keep Shankland but that we manage to bring in at least one other who will add to the team.

Courier online reporting that scouts from Palace Southampton and Birmingham were up to see Chalmers at the weekend

Was having a Google to see when 2021 transfer windaes were.
You'd think it would be January but cannae see anything tae confirm that.
- Anybody ken ?
5 Scotland fixtures between now and January.
If it is January we have a de facto extension of windae until then anyway.
We'd be nuts to sell.
(Fuckin hate these disruptive transfer windows.)

If you take out the bumper bargain price tags the Scottish teams in general have been fucked over with in recent years and go with a more general European value or even English value he's worth between £8M & £50M.

Declan glass to go out on loan to partick for rest of season ! Very good move, centre mid imminent???

New rumours surfacing on twitter that freemans off to Peterhead on loan.
Surely signings incoming!
Offline
Yeah freeman gone to Peterhead too

Disappointing re Glass going.
Hopefully with 2 looking likely to head out on loan we are about to unveil a couple very soon.

Dissapointed about Glass.
We absolutely must sign a CAM now. There's no debate about it.
Giving Freeman a contract extension was a strange decision imo.

can't really understand either of these decisions unless the emergence of Chalmers at RB frees up Bolton to fill in for Smith. Glass, disappointed with this. Best case scenario is we still have high hopes for him and have sent him there with a very focused set of objectives (be it tactical, work rate etc) with a view to recalling in Jan. He's the type of player fans want to watch, surprised Mellon hasn't taken to him .

Both boys are stepping up and getting invaluable game time. Im good with this. Going out to forfar didnt hurt goodie or Russell.
For glass, he has stepped up a league from league 2 and is still in a team which would be joint favourite for the league... should see him win more than he loses. He need to bull up - he'd get absolutely mashed in the premier.
As for freeman, he would be number 2 to Smith who has been pretty good at staying fit - so would stagnate. Hes going to a good club with a v sensible manager. Im sure they normally train with us at least a few days a week too - so coaches will be able to keep an eye on him.

Both Glass & Freeman have undoubted ability but need to get a bit stronger to be regular starters in the SPFL.
Neither would be getting much game time at Tannadice so it's a good chance for them both to show they can handle the physical onslaught of Scottish football.

Freeman hasn't been 2nd choice RB though.
MM has started Smith, Neilson and now Bolton ahead of him at RB. So he's currently 4th choice and it's not a surprise he is surplus.
Again, i found him being offered a new deal strange. He hadn't played even one minute for us.

Never knew Glass was away for the full season. Thought initially it was just till January.
First decision Mellon has made that i am really questioning.

If he’s not gonna play what’s point in keeping him?? There obviously must be a creative midfielder Imminent as there’s no way they sanction this deal surely 🧐🧐

It's the not giving him the chance at all that has me questioning him.
But promoting Neilson and Chalmers to first team top flight football with even less experience. I liked Glass (as did a lot of our fans) and am baffled as to why he has been shunned by MM.
I will say one other thing. Should Utd have a Covid outbreak and say 5 or 6 players have to miss a game or two or three, then we may regret letting boys like Glass go on loan. As we have a thin squad as is. And no players centrally who can create from midfield.

Mellon sees these players in training every day, I'm happy to trust his judgement.

Glass:
In light of performance of Neilson and ever improving Chalmers already this year. In light of cameo v St Mirren where he looked good I'm bewildered.
To Partick, I'm bewildered; cannae see the quality there to bring him on, cannae see the travel helping. (How no Cove ? ) Cannae see it doing his commitment the world of good having to travel to that dump to play alongside they hams. No guarantee the wee Jobbie even give the laddie a game. Right kick in the teeth I reckon.
This is a laddie with real quality we're talking here. Does he's face no fit ?
For whole season I'm totally bewildered.
Meantime we're paying Cammy Smith and Emil King to do what ?

No doubts about it, he would have went to one of the part time championship teams but they don’t do testing so that’s a no go, partick is a good option! It’s a good move for the lad, goes there tears it up, he’ll be back in the fold!
On smith and king, it’s easy to loan glass out cause he’s 100% got something but not quite sure what the others offer to anyone tbh, can’t see either of them being here end of the window so keep calm

Keep Calm That's what wifey keeps telling me Sunday mornings !! (Over football like)
I don't see the problem with sending a young player on loan, who has played next to 0 minutes, after training with the 1st team since the new manager came in.
Firstly, because he's not played, he can't be missed. Don't forget, we've not had a bad start. I could understand the frustration if we were on 1 or 2 points after 8 games.
Secondly, we've no idea how he's shown up in training. MM must have his reasons for thinking he'll develop more by going out on loan. Also, he did well at Cove Rangers last season but that's 2 divisions below where we were and 3 below where we are now.
