Sooner we get a striker the better. Very disappointed with how slow we are being!
Don’t personally think it’s the strikers that are the main issue there though. Not saying we couldn’t do with a target man, but I think we’re mainly needing another quick winger and a creative centre mid, unless Mochrie or Glass step up.
I agree, did you see the Sheffield game? Glass and Mochrie best 2 on the pitch for us and that’s against premiership opposition, both don’t seem to be getting a chance under Mellon
I'm sure there will be a very good reason for that. Micky has already proved he's happy to give youth a chance, perhaps they are not doing enough in training? We've also played only 5 games this season so perhaps they will get game time soon, we can't field an entire team of youngsters in this league unless we want to bounce right back down again.

You still need the back bone of experience. We've been here before with Jackie and were relegated. Great that we are bringing through lots of youngsters but absolutely right that we have a solid spine of experience throughout the team. In my view an experienced striker would be a great signing. Shankland himself is still relatively young and whilst Clark is older he's not really very experienced at this level.

Scott Burns saying..
Striker remains the priority. Several proven strikers on the short-list but they may have to wait until closer to the end of the window, with some of the wages involved, before they get a deal done.

5 weeks on Monday. We’d feel a bit better if Shankland was fit
I’ll feel better if Shankland is still a United player on Oct 6th.

How so? As long as we get someone that will fit into our ethos and structure I’m quite comfy waiting. We only have 4 league games between now and the window closing. The important thing is to get Shankland fit.

And then however long thereafter it takes to get the players upto match fitness.

Is it as simple as Asghar is using Scott Burns as a means to communicate informally to fans looking for answers on the things he can't come out and say?

I reckon so. The club/Asghar definitely use him to gauge fan reaction. You need only look at the Malky Mackay saga to see that:
We might have a chance to sign 'x'. The management are perhaps so-so on 'x' and feel it's a risk, and try to find out if 'x' would be a signing which fans would welcome(fuels ticket sales) They then leak it to Scott Burns and just gauge reaction off social media. Happened a few times with signings since the Ogrens took charge.

I should say there is also speculation it's Dundee he is going too. My money would be on them tbh.

I see he also replied to someone asking about Safranko last night, saying Pavol is on big wages and his club would want a big transfer fee so a move for him would be very, very unlikely.
I take it that means we enquired about him.

I’ve not seen Charlie Adam play recently to know whether I’d want him or not - that’s what’s matters here. Not who he has played for or supports. One thing is for sure, he has much needed composure we are missing and has the ability to make other players around him better with the right decision making.
Who is Scott Burns, I'm too old to tweet & that so have no clue who he is?

He was cracking in his 1st spell at Hibs. So much so that it won him a Scotland call up.

No thanks. Good with a dead ball but terrible in possession. Used to specifically watch him on MOTD and the number of times he lost the ball was amazing.

So another day and yet more Utd signing rumours put to bed.
Charlie Adam going to Dundee.
Jamie Murphy going to Hibs
Marc McNulty not an active Utd target (Scott Burns).

Really strange we’ve not signed a out and out left winger yet, striker position were just wanting on Norwood I reckon not even entertaining anyone else until that deal is dead in the water

To be fair to Micky, he's only had a few weeks at the club, while we have never signed a winger either left or right under a number of managers for years and years, discounting Alex Nicholls on loan.

I think you're right about Norwood. Hanging off for him.
I just don't see how it happens unless Ipswich change their mind and decide to loan him to us till maybe January to get his fitness up to speed.
Which would be short term thinking.
