Just listened to MM on the bbc and to me he just sounds like a real manager, don't know if it's old skool but what he says and if what the team has done is anything to go by then I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

So far so good for MM. His tactical awareness and adaptability is on a completely different level from Robbie Neilson.
If he’s astute in the transfer market then we have a potential legend in the making.

He comes across as a proper old school manager to me. Graft and 3 points is all he wants. Time will tell of course but the signs are all there that he will be very good for us. We are Dundee United and we finally have a manager who believes in that.

I'm delighted with the start we've made under Micky and just enjoying knowing that we will be set up every week to give us the best chance of a positive result.
I think he's already getting more out of Pawlett than Robbie Neilson ever did and I'm actually enjoying him being in the team, which is quite remarkable after me wanting him punted.
Really delighted we got another 3 points today, and I feel confident under this manager that we will pick up the points we need to stay up as a bare minimum.

. . ... Just watched Mickey's post match.
He's the man

Everytime in the past few seasons when i would read a comment from an Adam Barton about how the fans 'don't realise how hard it is to go to Alloa and win'
or
How Ray McKinnon would sarcastically say 'the fans just expect us to win 6-0 every week' (fucking 1-0 would have been nice).
or
Paul Quinn saying he wanted all the pictures of club legends removed from Tannadice as them holding up trophies etc was putting too much pressure on the current players.
or
Writing off defeats to Alloa, East Fife etc in the Cup and filing it under 'Pre Season'. In fact writing off the entire Betfred Cup campaign and filing it under 'Pre Season'.
Everytime i read these type of digs at the support and lame excuses my heart would sink a little deeper.
Because 'We Are Dundee United'.
One of Scotland's biggest clubs and one that is known and respected across European football.
We finally have a Manager who realises the magnitude of the role he has acquired and speaks how a Manager of Dundee United Football Club should speak as a consequence.

That list makes me shudder, great post!

It's early days but he's got the same aura as Craig Levein/Peter Houston in the way they gave the fans their pride back and understood the expectations at this club, setting standards to match.

Y’know what else comes across from MM - he’s genuinely proud as fuck to be given an opportunity at a club United’s size and he seems determined to take it.

Is it possible that a few of us forgot just what Dundee United is, maybe we have lost sight of exactly what our identity is / was, a little bit... and Mellon is reminding us.
We Are Dundee United is more than just a throwaway line in an interview.
We are back at the top table and we won’t be here to just make up the numbers.

He's definitely saying the right things and getting things right tactically in most games so far. There can't be any Arab out there not confident with this man in charge.
MM has used 19 players in 4 games.
6 of the 19 players started all 4 games. Siegrist, Connolly, Reynolds, Harkes, Butcher, Pawlett
Of these 6, 3 have played 90 mins in all 4 games. The first three named above.
The other 13 players are Neilson, Liam Smith, Robson, Cammy Smith, Clark, Shankland, Bolton, Chalmers, Appere, Edwards, Freeman, Sporle, Powers.
We have used 15 substitutions in the 4 games.
McMullan would have made it 20 players if fit.
Most noteable non-appearance so far is perhaps Glass.
4 other players have been unused subbies - Mehmet, Graham, King, Mochrie.
So I guess we're looking at a 25-man squad.

Looks like he has been true to his word and everyone is getting a chance to prove they have what it takes to play at this level.
There's a good piece this morning on the BBC Scottish football website re Micky Mellon's first hundred days here.
Worth a read, quite reassuring, sounds like there are no conflicts.
