Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

What Utd side/formation would you play tomorrow factoring in expected injuries etc?

I think Robson will be added to the injury list alongside Shankland, L.Smith and McMullan. But i think Ryan Edwards might make it (apparently just a hamstring strain the other night).

My team would be.

.....................Siegrest..................
.....Edwards..Connolly..Reynolds...
Bolton..Butcher..Harkes..Powers..Chalmers
..............Appere...Clark......

Subs - Mehmet, Neilson, Freeman, Pawlett
Sporle, Glass, Mochrie, C.Smith, King

I’d probably have Neilson for Edwards as a hamstring strain in your first game in 4 months needs to be treated cautiously.
Sporle for Chalmers, at least to start with and Glass for Powers, desperately need some creativity in the middle.

This apart from I would leave Powers in there and bring Glass on for Harkes or Powers second half when players are starting to get tired.

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

According to Mellon, Jamie Robson will definitely not feature tomorrow.

Shankland sounds a huge doubt also and we have other 'bumps and bruises' in the squad.😒

We will certainly need a few back and a strong squad available for Celtic. So probably for the best to risk no-one tomorrow.

Good to see Freeman getting a chance to prove himself in the first team.

When I click on that it just takes me to subscribe to watch live events and when I click on that it only offers monthly or yearly subscription and not match day ticket ?

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

Brilliant result.  Thought it was a very similar game to the Motherwell game - didn't offer much in the first half but by far the better team in the second.  Deserved win.

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

Good win that. Given how stretched our squad is.

Can you imagine us coming back to win that game under Robbie Neilson? Me neither.

Seems MM got his tactics and subs spot-on again.

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

Over the moon with that result. Did think a win today was a must.

2nd half i thought we done very well and overall deserved winners.
Some run from Neilson near the end but think he should have passed to Clark.

Mellon seems to be getting alot out of this squad so far.

Had to be that dick that scored for county eh?

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

Just back home, didn't get to see or listen to the game. Absolutely buzzing that we picked up the 3 points. Micky Mellon working wonders and is so much more tactically astute than our previous manager. Getting the best from an under strength squad that's missing our 2 first choice fullbacks, our main creative source from last season and our talismanic goalscorer. We'll done again United and congratulations Micky for having the balls to throw in so many youngsters 👍

Have to agree with Tek and that might be the reason we will be safe this year.

I agree. Long way to go but 2 wins already from 4 games is a great start. Compare it to Hearts 4 wins from 30 😂

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

Delighted for the players and manager, who is a breath of fresh air compared to Robbie Neilson.

MM is happy to use the young players in the squad, and they are in turn doing the job for the club.

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

We are up against a better team next weekend and expected to roll over no doubt. We may get nothing from the game but so long as I see my team fight tooth and nail and hold their heads up I will be happy. Games against Celtic and Sevco won't define our season, games like today will. Well done again to Micky and the boys 👏
