Clark has to play imo. We played our best stuff last season with him in the team. Our record without him was way worse.

I think the majority of the team is picked itself. Reynolds back in assuming fully fit.
Ideally we get as close to our strongest 11 from last season. I think there is only 1 spot to fill:
Benji
Smith
Connolly
Reynolds
Robson
Butcher
Harkes
Pawlett
Appere
Clark/Smith/Bolton/Glass
Shankland
Clark, Smith and Glass have all started games this pre-season. You'd have to say Clark but Pawlett has been mostly through the middle with Shankland so you might see Cammy Smith stuck out on the right.
With Mellon looking to press high, is a pairing of Clark and Shankland being on the pitch going to give us the best chance of carrying this out well? I'm not so sure. Smith, Pawlett and Appere behind Shankland gives you a lot of energy to work with. We will see what he does though!

I'd prefer butcher in midfield if possible and really want to see what spore can do. Perhaps if mellon prefers crosses and a target man, we may see the return of overlapping fullbacks which seemed to be largely missing under neilson

Tomorrow is going to be so strange I can hardly get my head round it.
Anyway we're talking about team selection & in many ways tomorrow's starting XI is going to be the most fascinating for many a season. I can't ever remember there being a more intriguing selection. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Mellon & Frail (& Bo too) are discussing the line-up.
Btw I think we've totally knocked it off with the managerial appointment. And I'm hearing this week from someone who knows him well that Steven Frail is a topper too.

Give you 7 out of 11. My boring selection has Robson for Sporle, one of the Marks for Neilson, Pawlett for Bolton & Clark for Glass. We'll know in 16 hours...
