14th September is the earliest Stadia could open, subject to limited numbers, physical distancing etc....

Bring it fucking on
Online!
There might be a test event prior to 14th September also fingers crossed.
Gonna be pretty difficult for the club to manage I would guess, there are going to be folk like myself wanting two seats next to each other.

Great news this. I canna wait to get back in the ground.
Not sure what to expect though. Would imagine to start with itll probably not be my ST seat im in, they might allocate everyone (by household) new seats to keep social distanced as well as possible.
May even be asked to confirm beforehand if you're attending or not.

Not everyone will want to attend and I'd like to think they contact tbe club ro make them aware of this.

2nd wave will be here before fans are back in stadiums methinks. More chance of the league getting shut down before fans are back in grounds.

Can’t see fans getting in 14/9, this hasn’t gone away and seems to be getting a grip again.
The resurgence down south and in pockets up here shall affect us again I fear.

Think the opening of grounds to fans will be prompted by the thinking behind restaurants, pubs, shops, shops with cafes, workplaces and schools allowing folk in: little to do with science, and based on economics.
If, after suggesting fans can be allowed back in, this is altered because of increased levels of Covid, then in fairness it'd be difficult to justify not changing the access arrangements for retail, hospitality, education and workplaces.

2nd wave in Scotland highly unlikely in my opinion. But that is an uneducated opinion. As long as they keep things going slowly. People moaning about gyms etc but I think its a good decision not to open them until September.
FM reckons around 300 in the whole of Scotland have the virus. Keep things slow for another few weeks and that number drops massively. People just need to keep following the rules to the best of our ability.
Some pics and footage I've seen from inside pubs is a bit concerning. I think they need to be careful and ensure they have a tighter grip on how people are acting after a few pints.

Sound points LEK. The details might be interesting. If, for example, crowd access begins at 10% capacity how would the lucky 1400 fans be chosen? Would they have to wear masks? There are other areas that would need consideration: would we be allowed to sing, celebrate or eat and drink at the game?

If it’s on the basis that there needs to be certain gaps between seats, surely those from the same house hold can then sit together with a gap to the next person or family which could increase the numbers. Then if you add in the school argument, could nearly all kids be allowed into the calculations with suitable supervision?
Have an outside kiosk owned by United. Have a steward led Qing system for the toilet. Potential to wear masks when walking down the stairs into the concourse etc for leaving/toilet.
If all those reasonable steps plus a few more are taken then I see no issue with having considerably more than 10% in stadiums. We’d only need to get to about 20% to basically have every second week with some possibly even getting 2 out of 3

Probably would be as you said 10% of ground capacity but I’m also wondering if it could be 10% of season tickets sold I.e. about 560.

I think all your points are workable but a lot of work will have to be done first. All fans would need to seriously comply with the agreed guidelines as we cannot expect Stewards to police the crowd.
My experience of intercity bus travel and mask- wearing isn't a good one. Some passengers don't wear a mask, some wear one below their noses and others wear them at the chin while spending the entire journey eating. From what I've seen from passing pubs in Gorgie and Dalry it seems that a one centimetre distancing measure is being observed.
I'm delighted at the prospect of fans returning to grounds but I feel it might not be a steady progress towards a full return. Too many people seem to be acting as if the virus has gone and they're offering only token compliance with government guidelines.
Kdyteejay I think any percentage figures are relating to ground capacity, but I could be wrong. Most people assume priority will be given to season ticket holders. I think there's a good case, from a point of revenue accruing to the club, for making restricted entry a pay at the gate affair. I'd like to see priority being given to school age kids too as they are the future of the club.

Statement from Asghar:
With the football season underway, we still all have exceptional challenges to endure with COVID-19 and the safety of our whole community is paramount.
The Club has worked tirelessly, and with great expense, to adhere to restrictions and measures implemented from the SFA/SPFL Joint Response Group to make sure our players, coaches and performance staff are tested twice a week and conform to all medical advice to be able to train and play matches.
Our hope is that by doing this in the short term, we will soon see supporters at matches and players will eventually return to a normal working environment.
However, I must stress that it is important that our fans support us during this time. Over the past few weeks, there have been attempts made to approach players at the High-Performance Centre (HPC) at the University of St Andrews to sign shirts and take selfies. This is not acceptable and could seriously jeopardise the health of the players and also impact on the continuation our competitive matches.
Your support is fundamental to our players and staff but, at this present time, we cannot have anyone other than players and staff attending the HPC or the Stadium on matchdays or approaching the players until we have clear indications of a change in the process.
Our players and staff are well aware of the ramifications of this virus but they also find it difficult to turn down an advance of a fan as is human nature, especially for the type of player we have at Dundee United. However, I also know the core support of Dundee United FC will also adhere to this, so please spread the word to others. The time will come for selfies and shirt signing if we can continue working within the guidelines.
Stay Safe.

This is beyond a fucking joke now, how fucking dumb is this guy? Celtic and Aberdeen need to be punished heavily and they can then take their wrath out on the players themselves afterwards. All this on top of Leigh Numpty Griffiths fucking big birthday party celebrations too.
This season will not make match day 4 at this rate!

I can't believe that whilst all the major leagues in Europe have managed to finish their seasons, cup finals, play offs and even European competition are being played out without a hitch, Spl players can't get through the first fucking week!! Completely and utterly embarrassing and unacceptable and a complete travesty for the fans if the season is halted again. Do these stupid cunts not realise that their clubs will be severely financially fucked if football stops again, meaning the thick selfish fuckers won't get paid!

There was a Twitter rumour Utd players were out on the piss after the St.Johnstone game. Not sure we can get too high and mighty or call for the clubs to be hammered if that's the case.
I have a feeling the Scottish Government will be laying down the law to all Premiership clubs tomorrow however.
Players need to use their heads at the moment.

Leagues gonna get shut down again
How fucking stupid could you be?
These plays need hit with big bans, and I would expect the absolute same if it was united players, fucking idiots

I heard 3 managers getting asked at the weekend how they were dealing with all this and to say they weren’t on the same page would be mild. I’m pretty sure none of them had a clue what’s allowed and what’s not. I honestly thought that after the Aberdeen capers they’d all have went back to the players with explicit instructions, but it really seemed like they really weren’t that fussed about it and it was just an inconvenience.

Honestly Tek, if our players have been guilty of the same thing I'd be fucking furious and expect the same punishment for us too. Whilst it's only a rumour on twitter I'll not make anymore comment on it though.
There will be some feet not touching the ground for sure tomorrow.
Just really disappointing stuff tbh 😕

If anyone is looking for a reason why Scottish clubs and Scottish football continue to lag behind the rest of Europe, you've got your answer now. The lack of proper professionalism is shocking.

This could be bad news for the Scottish game. Due to the current School exam fiasco Sturgeon will be looking to move the media attention on to more safer ground for her.
