As things stand the now I'd go for between 9tg and 10th as long as Shankland stays.
It won't take much the sign a good center half and a quality center mid that can create and we will be about 7sh.
All guess work at this stage but I'm concerned with us only having two recognised CH and the amount of goals we scored in the three games against Prem teams in the friendly games But it's still early doors.

1st post but been reading for a while. I think fowk are being understandably pessimistic about this season. What you gotta remember is no teams have made loadsa signings so we are not alone in that.
Also I think I am correct in saying that every team that has got promoted from the championship during our 4 years there( Hibs, St. Murren, Livi and Ross County) have all stayed up and with maybe the exception of Hibs in oor 1st season doon these teams were not much better than us .
I predict 5th.and I'd settle for that with being hard tae beat and having some goals in us.

Great username 👍 welcome aboard!
Good Post, hope you're spot on buddy.

One thing in our favour is that not much is expected of us. The pressure of being overwhelming favourites for promotion has weighed heavy on some of these players the last few seasons. Maybe this year that pressure will be released and we might see some of them actually perform better.

I'm not going to make any predictions, not here, any other platform, I just gonna enjoy the ride.
There's been a few threads on here where we've discussed the quality of of squad, how likely they are to step up, who we should keep, bin, gamble on, my list wasn't complimentary, but simply we have a lot of guys who've got no top flight experience, then some who weren't great when they were up there and some who are still learning the game.
However, having read up on Micky Mellon, listened to fans of clubs he's been at and then listening to his passion, enthusiasm and determination to succeed here in his Dode Fox Podcast appearance, i'm far more optimistic than I would've been under Neilson.
We might need at least 5-6 bodies in, but I get the feeling no matter who plays they'll be giving their all, no lacklustre tippy tappy, slow build up possession pish performances like Robbie was prone to serving up.

Agreed. I also think some players who didn't look all that special last year might turn into much better looking players when playing at the higher level as the style of play will suit there game more. I'm hoping at least one of Harkes and Powers is in this category and possibly a couple of others as well, particularly the younger ones who we will be looking to kick on in their careers.
I'm surprised how negative people are on here at the moment. I guess we are all nervous to a) get the team back on the pitch and b) see what they are made of. Clearly our win rate isn't going to be as good as the last few years, but I for one can't wait to see the boys back in action. Win, Lose or Draw.

Welcome to the board.!
Totally agree with the second paragraph, exactly what I was thinking.
Top 6 would be amazing but to avoid a relegation dogfight. survive comfortably and give teams a good contest would be great..

Welcome mate.
This.
5th/6th what I'm hoping for too.
- Wonder what the odds are on that ?
So many intangibles it's no' funny but you can sum them up by saying :
- Quality we already have.
- Signings.
- Quality we can bring through.
- Dross we need to shed.
- Ability to boss the opposition.
- Get as many points on board as possible before Shanks departure.
- Positivity.
We have a good management structure in place to achieve this.
Better site more positive than fuckin Gorgie Robbie that's for sure.
No bones about it, no-one said it was going to be easy but 5th/6th for me.
