Pretty sure the Pav thing is a running joke on P&B
Hmmmm I agree but you never know.
For the style Micky seems to want to play with a high-press, you wouldnt find too many strikers more suited to that than Pav.

The other 9 might actually help him this time rather than watch him run past them chasing their man.
FWIW - not too fussed about this. A good player that scored good goals but missed quite a few chances. A good contingency to have further down our list of options but would like us to see what else is out there.
If the unthinkable happens we'll be needing more than Pav.

IMO, Greg Stewart is most effective on the right, cutting in on his left foot.
We’ve seen in friendlies that Mellon can change from a back 4 to a 3, maybe that’s where Bolton comes in, with relative experience at wing back

With Simon Murray having returned to Scotland, I will be interested to see if he gets a mention.
Presumably lives locally, has a good engine on him and maybe developed as a player since being away?

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back at Arbroath tbh

I reckon he'd get a Premiership club if I'm honest. Bottom 6 probably.

Don’t want him back at United but wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a premier league club, if not he’ll probably end up at Dens as a replacement for Nelson.

He did his ACL last year so I wonder if he's lost a bit of a pace on the back of that?

Arbroath is my guess, but if he fancies dropping a further level then there's always the fun 🤣

Big fan of Luke Bolton changing all of his social media pictures to ones of him in a United kit. Hope the lad can make a real impact.

Luke Bolton is interesting for a couple of reasons

(a) it's a loan and I didn't think we'd go down that route. there's no sell-on fee so doesn't fit in with other apparent business model.
A big part of our business model is getting as much money for LS when he moves on, so getting Man City's attention on us certainly can't hurt with that. Or it coudl be that he can do a job for us, at a price we can afford, so why not?

Are you proposing Man City, the richest club in the world, might be interested in Shankland?
You'll see my closing statement is he might just be a really good player. let's hope so.

Well not 100% seriously, but thinking of it the other way around, Luke Bolton is on their books, and I don't think anyone seriously expects him to be better then Shankland, so why not?

Hearing Jackson Irvine, formerly of Ross County and now at Hull is in talks.

Great experience at a good level, can't remember all too well but I'm fairly certain he was decent up here before?

Is that no a hairdressers in the Perth Road?

Irvine would be an excellent signing. Big and strong, partial to to goal. Would definitely add something different to the team.

Looking at his stats, he's played a lot of games in the English championship, player of the season at Burton Albion too. Would be a great signing

Where did you hear about it btw?

I rated him at County.
Not followed his progress much since but reading his Wikipedia page is good reading.
Played over 100 times in English Championship.
35 caps for Australia (5 goals).
Still only 27 so in his prime.

Out of contract?

If the Jackson Irvine rumour is true, I'll have a bit of that. Really good player and can chip in with a goal or two. If he's the standard of players we're looking at, we'll be fine 👍

Was thinking of him earlier bizarrely. He’d be a very good signing
