Re: Tannadice friendly on Saturday?

Finished 1-1.

Cammy Smith scored in first few seconds.

Killie equalised on the hour mark from Greg Kiltie.

Dundee United: Siegrist (Deniz), L.Smith, Powers (King), Connolly, Robson, C.Smith (Glass), Butcher, Harkes, Pawlett (Neilson), Mochrie (Appere), Shankland

Hopefully the complete omission of Nicky Clark's name from that squad is purely precautionary.

Edit - he was unused sub. As was Sporle, Freeman and Chalmers.

Re: Tannadice friendly on Saturday?

More alarming is the omission of Reynolds hopefully he is fit it’s a nonsense that we only have two experienced CH 7 days prior to the season starting. Reynolds also doesn’t like the Astro and three of the sides have that surface.

It's all rather bizarre mate. Mellon's claim that we couldn't take in trialists seemingly dispelled also.

Killie played a trialist Goalkeeper today.

I think Micky Mellon said we wouldn't be taking trialists presently because of the Covid risks and testing required. In normal circumstances we might have taken them on, but the club has perhaps decided it's better presently to be cautious.

Don't really know the situation at Kilmarnock, but doubt it plays much in our thinking.

The whole squad gets tested twice a week.

It's not much hassle at all to have one or two more people tested alongside them. Can easily have them tested before they even join the squad also.

It's reverted back to twice a week this past week, and problems have been uncovered in the methods used by the SPFL clubs as recommended by the SFA. I'm happy with United being careful in this situation.
