Its United and its the SPFL, until tomorrows over I believe anything's possible.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

Watched a lot of videos tonight regards our respective two top candidates.

I now have huge respect for Steve McClaren and having watched a tonne of his coaching videos this week (with England, Twente etc) i can only say Utd would have been very very lucky to have had him as Manager.

Ten years ago.

Won't say anymore lads.

But out the two it's Malky MacKay for me.

Ian Baraclough has confirmed that Dundee United managerial candidate Austin MacPhee has agreed to be a member of his Northern Ireland coaching staff.

Think you might be trying to get a reaction, Tek!

Here's mine:

As money disappears from the club over the horizon, we could shout 'Snowflakes' at the companies who don't want to be associated with us, or who won't consider us for future patronage.

Strange response tbh.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

Sky Sports: We’re told McClaren has now turned down the chance to take over at Dundee United following talks this week.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

McClaren turns down job SSN are saying.

No surprise, doubt our transfer budget would match his ambition. His name was spoken about, other clubs down south will take notice now. Good PR job for McClaren.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

So two horse race again now?  Wright and Mackay?

My thoughts exactly. Did he ever have any real ambition of taking over? Still, glad we've opened up to see what calibre of candidate was available. Does my nut in when McBookie dust off their usual standard Yogi, Robertson, Daly pish and people automatically think we're limited to that.

It may also have been a god PR job on our behalf. Who knows who might be tempted if it was NEARLY  good enough for Schteve.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

I think this is all to do with Tony trying to show the Ogrens that he is relevant in the UK soccer market than the likes of Schteve ever being actually interested in the job. I fear for us.

You fear that our Sporting Director has too much ambition?

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

Thing that’s worrying me the most out of all this, most teams that will be around us are making signings or have boys on trial, hope we don’t get left behind

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

MICKY MELLON closing in.
Mackay 10/11. Mellon 3/1. McClaren 4/1. Wright 5/1. 16/1 bar. That's on SkyBet.
Mellon doesn't appear on Wm Hill where you'd get at least 25/1 on request.
The plot thickens...

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

He may not be in big Tony's network circle but i'd like to see Robbie Fowler given an interview.

Re: Who would you want as new Manager?

Mellon hasnt even been interviewed. We'd have to ask his club for permission!

I find it strange that wee Robbo hasn't been mentioned by the bookies or anyone else.

Was down to 5-2 last time I looked lol, it could happen. But then again McClaren was 1-10
