All of that plus the manner of his departure and he goes with your best wishes? You're a much nicer chap than I am 😂Shakey Isles Arab wrote:
Spot on.
( Excluding the bit about leaving with best wishes - he leaves within inside knowledge of what we'll pay for Nisbet + young Finn)
Vacancy available.
He's not leaving with my best wishes.

When I start to worry about what Steven Pressley thinks about Dundee United, that's the day I'll give up as a football fan
Exactly: if Pressley is so close a friend and confidant of Neilson, he wouldn't come out with any of that nonsense. He's trying to sound informed and knowledgeable, but gives himself away with the fabricated detail.
OK your good wishes and gratitude then, amounts to much the same expression so no point splitting hairs. He gets absolutely no good wishes from me, shitey way to leave the club. We got promoted due to Shankland's goals and not to Robbie Nielson's expert management skills. Robbie may have signed him but so what? Mr magoo could have spotted his talent lol. I'm angry about the timing of this rather than actually losing the cunt. 5 and a half weeks to the new season and we could not be in worse shape than we are right now. This will 100% impact on our season, I have absolutely no doubt.

Delighted that Steven Pressley has ruled himself out. Man is a clown and doesn't seem to realise that the rest of Scottish football thinks he's a numpty. He has to rule himself out of every job before the interview stage to avoid the inevitable humiliation of not getting an interview. Maybe he should go off and learn about accounts before he opens his gob again. Where do you think we were getting £250K for Nisbet from you chump...?
As for Neilson, I do think he's done us a favour here. Fans would have been on top of him for his 'tactics' pretty much straight from the off and he'd have been gone by October. This way we'll get someone in who we know should have a bit of a budget to bring in some new faces and a few weeks to get to know the team before the season starts.
I would have punted him after the St Mirren play off. Given the poor form of our opponents last year coupled with the no brainer acquisition of Shankland (which I am not convinced he was completely responsible for) I think I could have gotten us promoted and probably would have actually closed it out before Covid. So a loss for us? No.
That said, he was asked to get us promoted and he achieved that (assuming he new club don't screw that up) so he won't go down as a hate figure for me - he'll get a very reluctant thanks.

He did a great job at Hamilton if I remember correctly.

Seems to be a bit of substance to this rumour.

Really? Interesting. Surely too early days for there to be any real traction with anyone as of yet?

Just a thought. If ashgar goes as dof, we literally have nobody in a senior position with knowledge to hire a new manager.
Big malky gone
A hell of a call for a chairman with no real Indepth knowledge of football
Is there somebody he can take advice from? Luggy?

Why is Ashgar suddenly going?

Talking of Malky.
Malky Mackay anyone?

Could see Malky Mackay, also pretty sure he would have been Andy goldies boss at SFA also
Trouble is guys, whoever we get, there's a very good chance he's not going to be very good.
They virtually all fail.
So yeah, it's damage limitation. Who is gonna be the least shite?
That's what I think we had with Robbie. Which is why we could have done with keeping him.
Better the least shite you know than the least shite you don't know...

Hearts want a director of football.
Robbie likes having a director of football
Ashgar is on good terms with neilson.
Not saying its happening but its possible and we would suddenly be v light on senior 'football' people

Asghar has came out tonight and said Neilson going to Hearts is a 'sideways move' for him in the Daily Record.
So, going by that, no chance he'll be their new DoF.

Billy Reid would be a decent shout. Tommy Wright, while not being everyone’s cup of tea would have us organized and hard to beat?

He would, that.
Reminder that he beat McNamara's Utd side FIVE TIMES on the trot. Including a Cup Final.
A Utd side that included Andy Robertson, Stuart Armstrong, GMS, Nadir Ciftci, Ryan Gauld.
Fucking incredible stat when you think of it.
Plus this stat alone shows he didn't just make them 'hard to beat', he also knew how to win games with lesser players. Big game's at that.
Also beat Celtic at Parkhead...knocked Rangers out the Cup at Ibrox..beat Aberdeen at Ibrox in SCSF..trounced Aberdeen at Pittodrie 5-1...hammered Rangers 4-1 in Perth...won away in Minsk..won away in Rosenborg..won away in Luzern etc etc.
His record with St.Johnstone (for the size of the tinpot cunts) is frankly, ludicrous.
Their greatest ever Manager.

A good article with quotes from Asghar.
Do you know this? Despite the fact that we might get in someone not even as good as Robbie Neilson (there's a better than even chance that will be the case #csaba) I'm now feeling happy about the departure.
I think I was taken in by the 'happy family journey' thing that was going on but....
Offski like a bat out of hell.
'You can't say no to a club like Hearts'. Unless MK Dons come calling.
