Can anyone see August 1st not happening?
Hearts will challenge the no-reconstruction decision in the highest court.
And now there's a precedent, the French challenge about the same issue was successful in their highest court last week. They didn't even have to go higher to European court.
So there's a good chance they would win their appeal.
And where would that leave August 1st?
Nearer to August 1st 2021 I fear.

An almighty mess ensues....

I really don't think Hearts will have much of a legal case.

Though we shall see.

The proposal states, quite explicitly, that the motion requires that at least 11 of the 12 clubs from the Premiership must vote in favour for the vote to pass successfully.

If you include United as part of the 12, then that means one of last seasons Premier teams are (by extension) not considered a Premier team currently.

12 + United = 13. Which club, which competed in the Premier last season, is no longer considered as part of the 12?

Plus it is in the T's&C's of the SPFL contract with all clubs that the league can be ended at any time and current placings adhered to under extraordinary events.

I think this qualifies...

That is exactly why i think their legal case will have zero merit.

That and the fact that their own motion would have punished clubs like Stranraer, Kelty and Brora.

As B&T says, the clubs voted to end the season with current standings based on points per game in place. Hearts themselves voted in favour of this, surely to fuck that would completely demerit any legal challenge to their subsequent relegation.
