Lars erik knell,
Love a conspiracy theory....so I just ask 😂
Comparing him to conway is a dangerous business - is he niskanen ffs before he's even signed?
I'd like to have 2 proper wingers - round pegs in round holes etc with younger lads able to come in. If shankland is staying, I think I'd rather have safranko than nesbit, purely on the fact that I like a runner and a scorer together - there's potential for nesbit (who I've not seen too much of, other than goals) to be playing in the same areas.
Meh - we are minted- lets take all 3 🤣

Nisbet is only a 6 letter word yet the amount of times people get it wrong is ridiculous 🙄🤔😂

Bet people thought Riku Riski looked the business too based on his 2 minutes Youtube video. Have we learned nothing over the last 5 years?
I'd be going in this order of preference:
1. Hayes
2. Drey Wright
3. The Finnish boy and tbh I'd want him in on trial first before signing him and certainly before throwing money at his club. The Finnish league is pish.

Riski was, like several other players we had in that dreadful season, a very good player who was totally wasted by the environment at the club at that time. Had a good career before he came to us, and probably has shone even more in the last four years. Even turned down International caps last year on principled grounds.

I agree youtube is not the place to judge a player. However from the footage I think he looks like he has something. And to be fair there is probably around 25 mins worth.
He was the star man in the league winning team (first time they'd won it in years apparently), has just today been made the vice-captain of the club at 22 and the Finnish national coach said he was going to get his first call-up when the next squads were announced.
Now all of the above doesnt make him a good player. But it makes me more excited about the prospect of signing him than it does any of the other wingers we've been linked with. For what its worth though, I would take any of them!

So - Portsmouth apparently outbid United and Hibs in January and it was rejected. Apparently they are still interested. They will be playing in a play-off to get into the Championship at the end of this month apparently. So wont be able to make any moves until mid-July. Hibs on the other hand, are in no position to make any free signings let alone pay for a player.
If we have the money we should go get this lad now!

Question: why are Hibs skint?

Dinna think the boy Gordon who owns them is too keen on putting his hand into his pocket.
If we’re in a position to spend money, we need to make a move soon while everyone else is still waiting to see how this pans out. Don’t want to end up in a bidding war with Hibs and teams from down south.

Frank Ross of Aberdeen has been released. I knkw v little about him but remember we were linked to him a few weeks back.
Stunning freekick v the rangers tho 🤣

Having stunning free kicks in your repertoire is like having a shithot youtube video & who doesn't have one of these?.
I'd be concerned at Dons letting him go if he can do that.
That free kick might have been his sum-total though..
Still worth checking out.
Logan Chalmers has a stunning free kick btw.
But you may not get one outside the box in the whole 90 minutes.

I'm not advocating we get him in - merely stating that we were rumoured to be interested a while back and that he is now released... infact in my message, I state I know nothing about him

Nisbet’s apparently told Portsmouth he’s wanting to stay in Scotland for now, which clears the way for us to make our move.
Shows he’s got a good head on his shoulders, far too many players are too quick to take the money on offer down south without having done anything in the game, and end up back here at 24 without ever playing a single first team game in their careers.

Should be between us and Hibs now then, hopefully we get in quickly.
On a side note, is he not almost 24 anyway? lol

Didn't say you were Tangy.
My message was I remember Frank Ross scoring that goal against The rangers and thinking at the time the Dons had a shithot prospect in their ranks.
So it's strange he's been let go, there might be a reason, but still worth a good look.

Ross tore us a new one playing for Morton on loan a couple of years ago under Csaba.

Hayes seemingly on his way back to Aberdeen this week. They’ve offered him a two-year deal.
Would’ve been a good signing, but can’t say I’m overly gutted tbh.

Good news imo, will want a decent salary and is 33 year old in the summer.
Remember, we have bought apples from this cart before.
This pre season is unlike no other and we should hold our nerve to get the right players in, I would imagine that there will be some very good players looking for employment in the coming weeks.

I think he’d have been a good influence on the dressing room, in the same way that a lot of our senior players are like Reynolds, Connolly, Butcher etc. Wouldn’t have any worries about him being a bad apple.
But like you say, it’s gonna be a buyers market this summer, so there’s gonna be plenty other good players out there looking for a club, and most likely will have make a compromise on their wage demands, which suits us.

2 significant things have happened regards Nisbet in the past 24 hours.
Supposedly he's told Portsmouth via his Agent he wants to stay in Scotland at this stage in his career
AND
Hibs today held a meeting asking all first team players, coaches and staff to take a wage cut.
This surely opens the door for Utd to get him?

I thought the window opened last Tuesday, the 9th, MockChop. Some clubs have announced signings already, from other clubs.

A tall CH to go with Lamie and J.White from ICT. Obviously trying to build an athletic, aggressive team that can play a bit too as they have decent youngsters. A wee reminder of what we'll be coming up against next year and might need to gear recruitment that way. Connolly, Butcher and probably Shankland to an extent are aggressive and can hold their own. Not much power coming from full backs, wide players etc.Â
We can probably hold our own from a defensive point of view (Easter Road aside!) but I would like to see more attacking power being added. Strong runners, cause the opposition to think twice.Â

Imo a center midfield to compliment Butcher is the number 1 priority, someone who can dominate a game with the ball (box to box).
Did anyone else we were powder puff in midfield without Butcher? Would be interesting to see the stats.
Fingers crossed that either of the Americans can come good but I never seen enough of it last season.
