Given the go-ahead.

I'm sure the club will clarify soon. But surely current season ticket holders wont have to pay for this?

Shouldn't have to pay for the home games anyway.

Surely to phuck no.

If its an option for displaced fans such as myself to buy a virtual season ticket and put much needed funds into the club then bring it on, I just hope to fuck it will be done a little more professionally than the Arabzone commentary.

Best to wait and see. Would be scandalous if season ticket holders had to pay to watch home games getting streamed though.

I'd be very very surprised if this happened tbh. But letting fans know ASAP that an actual season ticket will automatically enable them access to the streams will do a lot to push season ticket sales right now.
I'd expect a virtual season ticket to be less expensive than an actual one as it won't include access to the ground once normal service hopefully resumes. But hopefully the streams could still continue until the end of the season regardless.

I wonder if the club might do something similar to Motherwell where your season ticket gets you into 19 home games whenever they might be, possibly into the following season, and the virtual season ticket is sold separately to get cash flow into the club short term.
I’d personally be totally fine with this, we’re gonna need to make a few allowances just to make sure we have a club to go back to when the time comes.

Couldn't agree more.

A virtual season ticket would be a waste of money tbh.
Given just how poor the quality of the stream has been from Arabzone whenever i have bought it previously.
Was unwatchable.

Club will need to invest in some new technology for it, servers and that. But it’s gonna be that or nothing for a while, so we’ll need to make do with it.

Yeah, much as I want to help the club and do my bit like so many others, the quality would need to be a whole lot better.
Unfortunately it sounds like it will be the same old Arabzone stream just opened up to viewers in the UK.

In the past couple of years I've got streams from St Mirren, Dunfermline and Ayr. Dunfermline and St Mirren's were top notch, HD quality with a built in Chromecast option. Ayr's worked fine but the quality of video was poor: camera position far too low down and looked like it was a video taken on a mobile phone.
Utd's however was the poorest. Video wasn't great, crashed repeatedly and no built-in chromecast option (same with Arabzone content) which is a real bugbear of mine.

Aye, the production would have to be improved, while I'd appreciate it if the commentators were social distanced from the microphones.

This is just the way it’s going to be for the next wee while unfortunately but the club should hopefully be forging relationships that will make this work.
Hopefully when the staff return to work then some of the answers that the average fans are asking for will be forthcoming.
This has been the immediate future since mid March and you would expect the club are well down the road with the review of Arabzone which as we all know could be produced and presented much more professional than it currently is and will need a bit of training, recruitment and investment.
Answers on 2020/21 season ticket holders, we should be approaching all the clubs outside the OF and getting agreements into place that all season ticket holders can watch the games both home and away as part of the season ticket package for no extra cost. This would I think appeal to most and see an uptake in season tickets.
Exploring sponsorship deals with Dominoes/Pizza Hut like American football where Season ticket holders get a discount and the club get some cash.
Programmes delivered to your door on the day of a match.
There are millions to get on with but the virtual season ticket is on its way and it will be here to stay once it’s introduced alongside the traditional current model.

Some good suggestions, I'd put them forward to the club, can't hurt.

Motherwell have said season ticket holders wont have to pay for a virtual season ticket. So have Aberdeen

Some points to highlight:
- Home games played behind closed doors will be available to adult season ticket holders as part of the season ticket package, including those who have already renewed for the season ahead. (strange they specify adult - why does that matter?)
- Dundee United pledge that if three or more home games are held behind closed doors during Season 2020/21, those who purchase a season ticket they will receive a credit equivalent to 1/19th of their season ticket price for each match missed from the third match that can then be put towards either the overall cost of a season ticket or match tickets for the 2021/22 season (great gesture)
- Significantly, buying your season ticket will also ensure that you are prioritised for attending every home league game where restrictions are placed on spectator numbers due to social distancing regulations. (very encouraging)
- includes the ability to view live games at the same time as they are broadcast on Sky for those who don’t have a Sky subscription. (brilliant - as a non-sky subscriber this makes me very happy)

Hopefully people don’t take this the wrong way, but maybe the club might charge the season tickets which are cheaper may be £5 per game Or something along these lines! Not sure how that will go down, just need to wait and see what happens
On the rest of the points totally agree, very encouraging

I had a student ticket for 4 years whilst I was at Uni and the discount is brilliant. £150 for a full season. If they still qualified for the % back if 3 or more games are BCD then I'm sure most would understand and be happy enough with that. I think currently it's something like £7.99 for someone abroad to watch it so you're right, this might be a route they go down.

Maybe to stop a huge influx of kids season tickets being bought as a cheaper way to watch the games?

The fact it's 3 closed doors before any refund is pretty much in line with getting at least 30-40% capacity in the stadium no later than October which is what I've felt all along would be the time scale .
