Keen to rank the goalkeepers who have kept the nets for us over the last 10 years and see everyone's thoughts.
So from 2010 onwards we've had (thinking of goalies who have played at least a handful of games for us:
Dusan Pernis
Rado Cierzniak
Michal Szromnik
Luiz Zwick
Eiji Kawashima
Cammy Bell
Harry Lewis
Deniz Mehmet
Matej Rakovan
Benji Siegrist
How would everyone rank them?

1. Dusan - Silver Kisser and kept clean sheets in 5/6 games in cup run.
2. Cammy was decent
the rest of that list is painful reading

I think I'd go for:
1. Pernis
2. Bell
3. Benji
4. Rado
5. Deniz
6. Lewis
7. Kawashima
8. Zwick
9. Rakovan
10. Szromnik
Maybe the only one that might be questioned there is Benji above Rado. Although its very tight I'm going with Benji as on reflection Rado made some fairly big errors whilst at the club (Derby loss where Stewarts shot went right through him and the ST J cup final too where he was in no-mans land for 1st goal) just off the top of my head so Benji has just slightly edged it for me.

The time limit rules out by days our best GK since Billy Thomson in Nicky Weaver.
1Pernis - although 2nd season not so good
2 Benji- getting better if he does well this year he may take top spot.
3 Bell good shot stopper but rooted to his line.
4 Rado - too many mistakes -add LC semi 2015 to that list
5Kawashima- poor but surrounded by shite defenders
6Deniz - happy to be a No2- don't like that
7Lewis too small to be a GK
8Rakolamb shite but there's worse.
9 Szromnik totally shite but seen worse
10 Zwick- the WOAT

Zwick was in the newspaper the other day saying how his dad sent United a letter asking for a trial..... As a fucking joke! And Sackie still signed him!

Based only on their career at Tannadice, not overall:
1. Pernis
2. Cierzniak
3. Bell
4. Seigrist
5. Deniz
6. Kawashima
7. Lewis
8. Zwick
9. Szromnik
10. Rakovan
Szromnik is playing in the second tier in Poland, Zwick in the fifth in Germany as an amateur, but was slightly less worse with us. Rakovan plays in the top tier in the Czech Republic, but for me was the worst of the lot.

1-5 I’d agree with the order, 6-10 All absolutely stinking.
Online!
1. Pernis
2. Seigrist
3. Rado
4. Bell
5. Deniz
6. Lewis
7. Kawashima
8. Zwick
9. Szromnik
10. Rakovan
Pernis silver kisser and a brilliant goalkeeper very very rarely made a mistake, I like benji a lot think he’ll be a massive player next season and the improvement in him this season is remarkable, rado was really good to start But nearer the end of united career he was flogging goals and got dropped For szromnik I’m sure, Bell in his only season was really good at us unbelievable at savings pens (I don’t think it’s a luck of the draw saving pens, benji take not), deniz is a good back up goalie would he have helped in the plays off after he got injured who knows??, Lewis was too young to be number one started off brilliant confidence got absolutely shot to pieces when he became undropable, kawashima for someone who has played at world cups etc was absolute shite, zwick won a competition to play for us and it was very clear he wasn’t up to it, szromnik and rakovan the worst by a absolute mile, both got smaller when the ball was going towards them honking

Rakovan was not the worst of the lot & I'm not surprised he's playing at a good level. He had 9 games with us & in one of them had the misfortune to lose a goal at the Eddie Thompson with it blowing a hoolie, can't remember which game it was but that was enough, he was designated shite. I don't like lists of shite goalies or shite XIs but the two German boys were out of their depth & not their fault.

Benji: If there's an improvement he must have been total shite before. Still a flapper. Still cannae save a penalty. Ba seems tae splaff off the side o' he's foot half the time.
Penalties I don't know if he tries to outpsych the guy, should be, disnae seem to.
Tbf amongst our myriad of coaches, goalie coach bears (we do have one I take it ?) some responsibility.
Get Hamish tae gie him a session or two, teach him what like it is on both side ae the ba'

What is most baffling is how many experienced Scottish Premiership goalies were available for free in the summer of 2015, yet Jackie STILL persisted with 3 GKs who had barely made a first team appearance between them.

It's not an exaggeration to say there were better keepers in the juniors than Zwick
I can't get the goal he lost against Dunfermilne out of my head, Definately the WOAT

I think that Benji improved a good bit this season however i wouldn't be against us signing another 1st choice with him as back up.

That was horrific to be fair. He was strangely quite decent at 1-on-1s. But any shot from anywhere a bit further out and he flapped. Szromnik was good with no shots or crosses of any kind hence when he is at the bottom of my own list.

No weaver or the monk?
Scrub that - just checked Nd they were 2009 and 2008 respectively.
Kawashima was a quality keeper but a combination of the absolute basket case united were and the length of time it took to get him in crushed him. Bell was solid enough and probably edges it over siegrist for me. Hard to judge deniz on 6 games or whatever he played. I remember we improved when he came along but likewise, he couldn't get a game when on loan at qots or when siegreist was poor...
1. Pernis
2. Cierzniak
3. Kawashima
4. Bell
5 Siegrist
6. Deniz
7. Lewis
8. Zwick
9. Szromnik
10. Rakovan

This would be my order too.
On the 2015 season with 3 inexperienced goalies: my understanding was that Jackie chanced his mit and spent (squandered) his entire budget on outfield players thinking that Thompson would then pony up for an experienced goalkeeper rather than allow us to go into the season with three rookie keepers but Thompson seemingly refused to add to the budget and we were left in the shit.

Agreed. The boy has never got near a penalty and there’s been plenty.

This was actually something Hamish was not great either. Be Interesting to his stats.
My memory may be playing tricks. But he normally just stood his ground and didn't commit to a side.
He did though save a penalty in a cup final
Last minute penalty for Rangers, nobody saw that coming.
