Ive stayed away from any fan groups in my time supporting Utd. I dont have any interest in being part of one. I want to go and watch my team with my family then go home. Not that i dont think about United the majority of the time, I just dont see what fan groups have achieved for us BUT i am maybe just being short sighted to the work that goes on so happy to be educated further.
As for this scenario. Ogren has pumped MILLIONS of his money into the club and this is an unfortunate situation he has found himself in. I havent enjoyed seeing some of the comments on social media as its felt way too similar to the old days when in reality he has helped us move miles away from where we were under the snake. He still has my full support in this scenario which I see as a business deal which unfortunately not be struck.

I am connected to the Dundee United Supporters Foundation and I have a concern that our 'supporter' on here is at it. Of course I could be wrong (widna be the first time). Nobody is at war and the last thing DUSF want is to become embroiled in a war of words with the club.
The club has made great progress and we are all appreciative of the obvious improvements.
I am thinking that Always United is being a bit provocative and this does no favours to DUSF - I note that on 14/7/18 on a thread entitled 'Stephen Thompson' he/she made a very strong statement in support of our previous owner. DUSF were no fans of ST - not many were.
It was never the intention of DUSF to produce such a detailed statement but we were left with no choice once we got publicly slaughtered a few days ago.
I am sure if you want info, make a point, agree/disagree you could email info@dusf.scot and we would try and answer your questions. It may be possible in the future to hold a Q+A not sure how that would work but it is something the Moderators on Tekel could consider. As you will appreciate our first and foremost communication is with our paying members. I hope you don't mind me posting this and my only reason for doing so is a concern that someone is making mischief.

That's a good response in fairness. I don't think any of us has issue with the supporters foundation but it was quite obvious that Alwaysunited is an absolute balloon and was just on here to try to stir up shite. As I have said earlier, whilst I have no wish to get involved with the foundation, I do wish you well in your endeavours provided its in conjunction with and for the good of Dundee United football club.

Thanks for this response.
I enrolled my wee lass a long time ago and haven't cancelled the subscription as I'll wait and see how this pans out.
Whether the poster is a sandwich short of a picnic, mischief making, steaming, a Dee or all 4 etc I think it's a good idea to make efforts to clear this up and distance the DUSF from someone claiming to be close to DUSF whilst trying to create conflict between supporters and the club.

Great post DPM65 puts some of the crap on this thread in perspective.

I stopped posting on here a while back but I still read the site and I think this thread merits a comment.
I've been a member of DUSF, making monthly contributions for the past 2 years. When I saw Mark Ogren's statement a week or so ago, I wasn't happy that the Foundation had apparently done something to antagonise the Chairman to the point where he apparently cut off relations between the club and DUSF.
I've since read a very detailed response from the DUSF steering group. I'll just make two comments about the response. First, the steering group asked their response to be kept private simply because they did not want to ignite a war of words with the club. That's all there was to it. Not because it contained anything particularly confidential or because the steering group are trying to play games. Second, having read the response, I now have no concerns over the conduct and decision-making of the steering group. I believe they were attempting to act in a way that was 100% in the best interests of the club, following best business practices. I won't be cancelling my monthly subscription to DUSF and I have full confidence in the people tasked with overseeing the finances.
I also echo the points made by DPM65.
Stay healthy, everybody.
Beautifully put, friend. The steering group have acted with honour throughout. God bless you.

I like this post and feel the same. Hope bridges can be rebuilt and progress can be made.
