Fucking prick.

The vote they’ve still to vote on would need to be the same vote everyone else voted on. Any other deals would also need to be voted on surely?

That's true, TheShed. The SPFL can't simply alter the cash handout in exchange for a vote, without introducing a resolution that clubs agree upon.

Not can they alter the league set up without consulting members. Perhaps Dundee are hoping to get a resolution on the table in short measure, using their vote as leverage.

This was another resolution he was proposing.

Supposedly.

A supposed sweetner to Partick. It won't see the light of day, thankfully.

Another statement basically saying fuck all. It's getting tedious now unfortunately.

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

They have been asked a single question.

Yes or No.

It's no hard.

Vote No, then get around the table and try and work it out

Vote Yes, let everyone else get on with planning for next season.

Exactly. They are holding up everything.

All because they've backed themselves into a corner and have no idea how to get out of it without losing face massively.

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

Do United get promotion now, or just the Championship?

And if it's promotion, as I think, wonder what size of league that will be.

Any reconstruction will need to be voted on and I just can’t see it being voted through.  Pretty sure it’ll be a 12 team premier we play in.

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

I'm waiting for the SPFL statement.
They make up the rules as they go along so let's see what they say happens next

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

It clearly says we have been awarded the Championship. However does it say what league we will be in.
This is the SPFL after all.
I remain cautiously unmoved

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

Finally! Although none of us would have chosen it to be sealed this way.

BTW what's this nonsense about reconstruction in the offing? Hearts down, United up as far as I'm concerned. A one off play off final between Inverness and Accies could still be played, same for the divisions below. I don't see why there needs to be any increase in the size of the Premier to accommodate those who have been crap all season and are bottom by their own hands.

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

Reconstrucion plans being chaired by Les Gray (Accies) and Ann Budge (Hearts).

Holy fuck!!

How can Hearts be at the forefront of such talks?

Should have been two independents appointed.

Only in Scottish football would this happen.

No wonder we get ridiculed!

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

Although the SPFL now have the authority to end the Premiership whatever way they see fit they don't have the power to force through an extended Premiership in numbers for next season.

That will only come about if an 11/1 vote is passed. No chance of that happening. The Rangers will vote NO to any resolution put in front of them now. I think reconstruction talks are doomed to failure.

So i still feel the SPFL will need to make the decision to relegate Hearts in order for Utd to come up.

Re: Dundee United Champions ?

Spfl resolution clearly states

if approved, this would result in the promotion of Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers, and the relegation of Partick Thistle and Stranraer.

It's the natural order of things, champions go up and bottom of the league go down. As harsh as it sounds because of all that's happened, it is what it fucking is. Every team is in their rightful position in their respective league tables based on how they have performed to date. Every single team is being judged on their points tally to date, why do we need to make exception because some were more shite than others?

Just re-read it, you're quite correct.

So Utd are up regardless.

Only issue left to decide is if Premiership will be cut short also (it will be surely) and if reconstruction can be voted through (it won't be surely).

Oh and the Scottish Cup.

Anyway none of that is Utd's problem.☺
