Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Ayrs tactics will be to get the boot in and leave the foot in. It's well  known by the rest of the teams that UTD don't like it up them.
No butcher probably means the same outcome as saturday. You cant coach grit and determination.  Hopefully all that turns out to shite tonight

Team confirmed, unsure of exact positioning:

Benji

Smith
Watson
Connolly
Reynolds

McMullan
Harkes
Powers
Appere

Bingham
Shankland

Could be 442, could be 4231.

Subs:

Deniz, Sporle, Robson, Pawlett, Glass, Neilson, Freeman

No other option other than Powers in centre mid.

3 left backs on the bench and Reynolds out of position.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Tbh no really bothered about Reynolds playing left back, robson has been honking recently other 2 on bench are untested

Anyone with a slight bit of movement would be better that powers in midfield harkes is running for 2 players

Was swithering on going - thank fuck I never.

Our last away goal in the league was against Partick on 11/01/20. Hardly Championship winning form.

I reckon drawing away against your rivals is championship winning form especially if you beat them at Tannadice

Well that was bloody poor viewing again. Not one shot on target that I can recall. Just absolute bollocks.

True, especially given our position.

Losing to Arbroath and drawing with Morton at home isn't though.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

At least not conceding has avoided Meltdown Central.
That's just the last quarter to play now, 5 at home, it's like 7 at home if you count Arbroath & Overtheroad.
Could it be we're fixing games so We Win The League At Dens on the last Friday in April, the penultimate game?

Thanks for being so honest we yer opinion as always bowers. Without going into much detail, it explains quite a lot.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Not a lot more you can add to what has already been said above, positive was the defence and the negatives clearly our inability to create chances never mind score.

A very tough watch again, letting Stanton go and Clarks injury have exposed some our midfielders limitations.

Scenes when fans are screaming for Robbie Neilson to be sacked after he gets us promoted. Outstanding stuff. Couldnt make it up but I can just see it now and its going to be a fucking great watch.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Doesn’t matter what the fans think. Ogren seems to me the type that won’t fanny about. If we keep this up and just scrape through Robbie will be punted. Which wouldn’t bother me one bit.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Tin hat on here, but I think we all agree that we are going to win the league at some point this season, the thing that worries me is can we attract players to our club when they look at some of the desperate results we've had and the manner of performances, wont they think if they can't beat those teams how the hell are they going to survive the SPL, new players I hear you say................well apart from Shanks the rest of the signings haven't filled me with much optimism.

Also what young player would want to come here/stay here when you look at the way Declan Glass has been treated since coming back, I'm not saying he would have been the answer in some of our last games but he sure as hell would have gave us a little bit of a spark instead of the turgid shite we have had to endure in the last several, but that might have been too positive a move to make.

I think Robbie is way to cautious ie Robson tonight instead of Glass (shore it up? Fuck, nearly got beat), if that doesn't send out a signal to TA to have a word in Robbies shell like I fear the future, we aint never gonna get that top six playing this way.

Top six?-we’ll be straight doon again. His tactics are brutal to watch.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

That's 4 of our last 5 Championship games we've failed to score in now. And the match 6 games ago we only managed to score in the last minute to snatch a draw (against Morton at home).

6 points out of the past 18. It's all very poor stuff at the moment.

P.S. I don't buy all this pish Neilson is saying in his Post-match interview about Somerset being 'a very, very tough place to come'. That is basically the same Ayr team as last season but minus their two best players (Shankland and McDaid). They also now have a rookie in Mark Kerr as their Manager.

Teams that have won in Ayr this season. Not just scored, but WON.

Stranraer (on pens)
Inverness CT
Dunfermline
Dundee
QotS
St.Johnstone
Morton

The myth that it is a hard place to go is just that, a myth.

P.P.S. What was the point of bringing Declan Glass back from Cove? Fucking joke.

I haven't been a fan of his for a while and still stand by that he should have been punted after the StMirren play off.
The bigger picture here is his terrible recruitment in January when we all knew what we needed didnt arrive. The negative tactics and team selections are having a huge impact on our results.

I really do not trust this guy to keep us in the top league when we go up.

Re: Ayr v Dundee Utd - Tuesday 3rd March (7.45pm)

Can any if the lads who were at the gehm say in all honesty how the game was in general.

Also having noticed that Ayr had 13 attempts on goal as opposed to our 5,  which oe the twa teams were the better side, if any.
