Think we are more than capable of a victory Saturday and i expect 3 points.
Seem to be picking up a few knocks here and there so not sure who wi be available.
I think Reynolds will come back in alongside Watson though. Also Glass will start again. Seems to be the midfield we are short. Pawlett and McMullan should be back.

Rumour is that Robson will be out for a month.
It has to be Spörle given a chance this time at LB.
Lessons have to be learnt after the last time Robson was injured and we re-jigged the entire back four to accomodate his loss, with disastrous results.

It wouldn't surprise me if Freeman is signed and gets played there.

McMullan still being out is a real blow.
p.s. where is Peter Pawlett? Been out for months now?
Been nothing on him. No return date given.

Neilson did say the other day he could be back in the squad for thistle game.

Pawlett is back in full training with the squad so unless he loses an eyelash or gets a ladder in his tights I'd expect him to be in the squad on Saturday.
Here's hoping anyway as a fit Pawlett is a great asset in this league.

If robson is out neilson CANNOT play Watson right back and smith left back, it doesn’t work at all! Play sporle keep the rest of the defenders in there right positions, play Stanton/appere in front of sporle to give him added protection

I'm worried Robbie brings in his central defence partnership of Connolly and Reynolds, but if Butcher doesn't make it, Paul Watson, who doesn't deserve to be dropped. gets slotted into defensive midfield.
But that's not based on anything, as Butcher is supposed to be fit anyway.
The head coach might well go for the line up LarsErikKjell listed:

Quite attacking, and it'd be entertaining if Robbie went along these lines over much of the remaining season.

I really hope he doesnt tinker too much. Although the 3 at the back isnt one we've played before, it is very much a round pegs in round holes scenario. Even if he wanted to slot Stanton into LB, I'd he more comfortable with that just to keep things as close to consistent as we can make it. Sporle surely could get through 90 mins at LB?

I actually remember Csaba playing a three at the back away to queens at the start of last season (Safranko’s first game.) Worked surprisingly well given the fact Adam Barton was the middle centre back and Fraser Aird was one of the wing backs. Isn’t a bad shout for Saturday by any stretch.

Nobody knows the players and their strengths better than Robbie and the coaching staff, I have full confidence that they will know what best suits the players we have available. He will also be mindful of the mistakes made earlier in the season. People are ruling Sporle out of playing left back after about 1 and a half appearances in that position. He's had much more time to settle now and get used to his teammates so I'd expect he's improved a bit.

Communication issues were cited as a factor in not playing him at LB by Robbie so might depend on how his English is shaping up.

The weather over the course of Friday and Saturday is for torrential rain.
I think this game might fall foul of the weather.

Might not be a bad thing considering our injury list.

Agree with this.

Being the selfish bastard that I am, could really do with this being on. Transport booked and highly unlikely I’d make the rearranged Tuesday night.

It was the same leading up to Neilsons first game in charge. Torrential rain for days and the pitch was fine. Fingers crossed will be the same tomorrow.

Butcher apparently nowhere to be seen at training. Must be injured.
Add in Stanton, Harkes and McMullan all probably missing and it could be a tough afternoon for our makeshift midfield tomorrow.

Hopefully he is.
Just concerning that he was absent from training. But hopefully just an innocuous reason for this.

Thistle have been trying to get several players in, but it appears they won't have it done in time for today.
Although the weather is terrible, my Thistle supporting neighbour insists they upgraded the pitch surface a couple of years ago and the game will be on.
Finally, the more I think about it, the more I feel it likely LarsErikKjell has got something here, and Robbie will bring in Reynolds on the left.

He played LB for Aberdeen quite a few times, a few seasons back now, right enough.
