Doohan was a prick to Shankland. Read they are good mates and holiday together etc.

Walking up in his face giving him verbals then scuffing up the penalty spot the way he did it was bad craic v any fellow pro.

Friendship ends the minute you cross that white line mate. And so it should.

Remember a great story I read years ago that in the tunnel at Wembley for a England v Scotland game, a couple of Dennis Law's, Manchester Utd team mates, went up to him to shake his hand and wish him 'good luck' etc.

They said they were shocked when he completely blanked them.

Doohan is a shitebag mentally. He's young but is affected badly when loosing.

The way he acted with Shankland was poor.

I get how it is v mates. I've drawn blood playing v mates but they deserved it more than this.

Bit contradictory.

Saying you've 'drawn blood' from mates but saying Doohan has a shitebag mentality for trying to unnerve Shankland. It never worked for him, but good on him for standing up for his team.

Maybe take the tangerine tinted specs off for a minute.

Don’t think I’ve put anyone’s doubts to rest in my previous posts. Butcher is 100% available on Friday. As is Reynolds, the only other player even close to a suspension.

Should be full strength for Friday.

Hahaha cheers, I'm relaxed now. Butcher is a massive player for us and will absolutely be up for Friday's game

Felt bad for leaving it in the balance on the last post. Butch will be as important as Shanks on Friday. Expect him to dominate in the middle as usual.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

Solid yesterday from us 7/10 all round and was good to see Reynolds getting a wee rest and also some recognition from all parts of the stadium.  At times his distribution could be better but he is the most important player in our squad IMO, the organiser, good tackler, good in the air and just a very reliable center half.

1st thirty minutes they had lost of foreplay but nae penetration, us first chance we get Boom there's yir dinner.

Special mention to the Hospo squad who never stopped yesterday and will no doubt have spare feet and heeds this morning.

On to the derby match where we can go just the 20 points clear of them, merry Christmas.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

Was at a Christmas meal and do right efter the gehm, but the highlight of the day was yesterday's result.

Didna think that we played our best in the 1st half, Ayr seemed to come at us like a swarm of bees for the 1st 15 mins when they got the ba, as opposed to our slow build ups.

1st goal. Top class pass fae Shanks doon the left wing, great move by McMullan beating the defender. Thought he was gonna have a go himself as he went inta the box, but a neat pass to Stanton for the tap in.

Neilson musta booted their arses during the break, coz 2nd half we moved up a league (excuse the pun).

Did dafty Kerr get booked for the Pen and a 2nd Yella, or was it a straight Red for tellin the Ref to phuck off?  Good Pen by Shanks.

The 3rd was a butty bizarre. McMullan played the ba doon the right wing for Shanks. The Ayr defender collects it but trehin to stop us getting a coarner, he kept the ba in for us, and McMullan got the loose ba and just clipped it to Shanks who runs it inta the box, gets the ba to Clark. Clean finish.

I've criticised Harkes a fair bit for unnecessary back passes, but his shot and goal yesterday were the brandy on the Christmas pudding. Stanton blocks a pass to get the ba to Harkes. Top notch strike.

Ayr collapsed efter that, and on another day, we coulda had 1 or 2 more, but before the gehm, we would've ah bit wir ain hands aff for that result.

Bring it on Friday.

Hope yiz ah hae a brilliant Christmas fellow Arabs, wherever ye are on the planet.

Good report as ever Billy_H.

I think Kerr committed the foul for the penalty, was booked and then got a second yellow for his outburst. TV pictures might show something completely different though! Ayr worked very hard from the kick off, and they looked to have tired themselves out with their efforts as half time approached: think that's part of the reason we came into it more.

Second half they had a wee bit of a second wind, but the penalty finished them.

Special mention to Benji, who I've criticised in the past: a great save from Harvie in the first 10-15 minutes kept us from potentially panicking against a side who have been a jinx to us over the recent past.

Have a fine holiday time yourself, B_H, and all United fans of course.

Nah, it was another defender that got the yellow card. Kerr obviously says something that the referee takes a great dislike to and shows Kerr a straight red.

Aye, seen that: Harvie was booked for protesting. Kerr's claiming he was swearing at the team rather than the referee, but he seemed to make an effort to get in the ref's face, and got a red directly from that.

OK tangerine tinted specs are aff bud, yer maybe right that at least he was doing something for his team which is what I'd want from a Utd player.

I still think how he treated his mate was poor.

By shitebag mentality I meant when he's not doing well or loosing his head goes which isn't what his team needs. Getting visibly agitated/irritated when subbies throw him back the ball over his head & shouts fae the crowd get to him etc.

When I caused mates to bleed it because I was a sweeper and mates were forwards.

Everything was just hard but fair and affy competitive but with full respect for eachother.

Well other than the "bee in my bonnet" regarding the mates that admitted the would take a fkn dive bud.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

Think the first half was quite poor and much improved 2nd half. Some very good play at times. Was delighted for Harkes getting that goal with his family being over for the game.
Onto Friday we go.

Didn't know his family were at the game, thanks bowers for that info. Hope Harkes gets another on Friday!
