Good news but I sincerely hope it’s not 3 1/2 years.

Is Nicky Clark good enough for the Premiership? I dunno.

That's a fair question Macho Man and one that a lot of fans have posed since this news was first mooted.
In my opinion, I feel that he is and, personally, I'm very happy that we're looking to extend his stay at Tannadice. Just because he may not be a proven quantity in the top league, yet, doesn't mean that he can't succeed at that level. He's an intelligent player with an eye for goal.

Another thing for me is that it’s probably a new lose situation for united, as if he isn’t cutting it in top league, put him up for loan and every team in championship would snap your hands off for a player like Clark

Two fair points there guys. I’m personally not so sure. I’ll hold my hands up if I’m wrong.

Brian Graham has scored 4 or 5 goals this season. Clark's a far better player than that donkey.

Being better than Brian Graham isn't exactly the benchmark we should be setting. I think we should be looking to sign players who would be good enough for the Premiership on the basis that we are able to be promoted, not sign players on the basis of simply being better than Brian Graham. If that was the case I might have a chance to living my boyhood dream and running out for Utd at Tannadice and I'm the wrong side of 40.

Said on here recently that Nicky Clark is a better football player than I gave him credit for, and I think he deserves a contract offer. Dunno the length we should be offering, as I wouldn't like to think by signing up all the lads here just now on longer deals it would prevent the club making offers for other players in 2020.
But on present evidence, the top league looks like it's had a drop in standards since we went down in 2016, and the level wasn't that great that season either. He'd possibly do okay in the top flight, but nobody knows for certain: he's never played there in his career, and will be approaching 30 by that point.

Jeezo, merely saying that if bg can notch goals in the premier league then clark would score no problem.
I also said Ckarks a far better player.

Nicky Clark, played in his correct position, is good enough for the premier league. Same can’t be said for some of the other contract extensions that have happened recently and there was no complaints. Strange.

What extensions have been handed out recently that haven’t been deserved/are for people (presuming the management team may be what you are hinting at) that aren’t good enough for the top flight?
