Nicky Clark

Time for him to start showing the goal scoring form he can undoubtedly produce at this level.

In fact it's long overdue.

No 1st team start for over 2 months and no goals scored for Utd in over 5 months. Yet he could be such an important player for us. We are really short of experience and more so natural finishers.

And, yes, i know he's been injured at times. But he's fit now and it's time for him to step-up. All the pressure can't just be on Shankland constantly.

Re: Nicky Clark

Fair enough looking for folk to step up to the goal scoring plate, but in his defence when did he last get a start in his natural position?  in fact how many times has Neilson played him as a proper striker?

If you want the best out of people, you need to make best use of them.

Re: Nicky Clark

Worth a shout up top with shankland today. Mcmullan and Clark enjoy playing against Dunfermline.

Exactly.  Only times he has played this season he's been out wide on the left.  Played most of last season behind out main striker.

Re: Nicky Clark

I doubt he is ready to start but can see him coming off the bench in 2nd half today.

I agree with that.

Up top is his best position. Play him there and judge him on that.

Re: Nicky Clark

Good to see Clark now starting to really add to the team with goals and assists.

Amazing what playing someone in the correct position can do.

Re: Nicky Clark

We've won every league game in which Nicky Clark has started this season (7 of the 9 victories).

edit, as it's six out of nine. But he's a talisman, I'm thinking.

Re: Nicky Clark

We have also won every game that shankland has scored in, lost every one where he hasn't. Play em both together up front and job done!

Re: Nicky Clark

See since the day of the original post in this thread (26th October) when we beat Dunfermline 2-0 and he scored and set-up the other for Lawrence Shankland, he's been our best and most important player.

Particularly in the absence of the aforementioned latter. His strike partner Shankland. He's helped us win both games without him.

Hats off to the boy, he's now showing the type of consistent form and big contribution to Utd i always suspected he had in him.

Re: Nicky Clark

He manages to stay injury free and he is a very important player which he has shown recently.

Re: Nicky Clark

20 goals in 52, decent considering he’s at times been played out of position and had a couple of injury issues.

Can he be another to join the 100 club?
Lets hope so.
