Re: Shankland

I follow national team home and away, these things happen, Scotland will be paying his wages until he is fit!

When he scored against San Marino was happiest man in the stadium, was so happy that one of our players has scored for Scotland

I'm fucking raging! Like others I saw this coming. We can't afford  playing for a tuppenny-ha'penny team such as Scotland. Never mind that other United players are stepping up to the plate and scoring goals, he is the top scorer by a mile and we, his home club and wage-payer, need him in our drive for promotion. Certainly he could have been injured anywhere at any time but, as B&T posted, he got the injury training with Scotland. Should never have been there in the first place.....

I am totally scunnered with our national team. They may win occasionally but in the main are a fucking embarrassment!

Over reaction or what?

" should never have been there in the first place" really?

How long do you think players will stay at a club that thwarts their international ambitions? Not that any club has the right to do that anyway.  I'm as gutted as anyone about Lawrence picking up an injury but seriously mate, have a word with yourself.

agree mate, hes been most prolific scottish striker so he is going to be picked. I would say he probably led the line better than naismith in the games he played so i would say he is a shoe in for the play offs. He deserves to be playing at the highest level and its a testament to both the player and the club. Its unlucky that he has picked the injury up but its far from crisis point, players get injured throughout a season, id rather we have a free week and he misses one game than be out for 3 or 4 around christmas time or towards the end of the season.

As I said to someone else earlier my opinion is as valid as yours.

FFS.....footballer picks up injury in training......not like its not happened before. He should be delighted to be picked for his country!!! We moan like fuck when we have our top players ignored then moan like fuck when there picked...get a grip

My opinion is as valid as yours.  Delighted to play for a rubbish team like Scotland?  Injured in training for playing in a Mickey Mouse team when he should have been with United?  Are we expected to say "Oh well, it's happened before so that's OK then" And you tell  me to get a grip!!

Playing for your country is a honour, no matter if the team is shite or not! Absolutely ridiculous argument, we all should be delighted he’s playing for OUR country

It's not your opinion that concerns me, more your blood pressure 😂

Re: Shankland

Surely the chances are it would have happened whether he was training with us or scotland? Not like Scotland are going to be training them much harder than we train them, is it?

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Shankland

Whether yer United 1st & Scotland 2nd, equal or not fully Scottish yer opinion is valid but some comments are a bit strange on this thread.

Re: Shankland

There has been a few games this season where I’ve noticed Laurence slightly limping/walking gingerly at then end of a game, Dunfermline away in particular.  So perhaps he’s been playing through a wee injury and it’s only now came to a head?

Yes it’s frustrating that he went away with Scotland and came back injured but it doesn’t sound too serious so hopefully he’ll only miss a game or two and hopefully Clark keeps stepping up, which I have no doubt he will.

On that i hope the club aren't rushing him back like has been done with almost every other injured player.

It would appear they're doing quite the opposite.
