ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

On Saturday we travel up North for a huge 'six pointer' against John Robertson's Highlanders who are currently 4 points behind us in the table and with a goal difference of 6 goals less than ourselves.

A win on Saturday really would be huge and could put a real bit of daylight between ourselves and Caley.

Their recent form has been 'Jekyl and Hyde'. In the past month they have lost 3-1 at home to Partick Thistle, followed that up by comfortably defeating Ayr 0-2 away, only to then drop more home points to Alloa (2-2), and then losing 2-1 away to Morton last Saturday. But they did stop 'the rot' on Tuesday night and recorded a solid 0-2 away win in Dumfries against Qots.

So they are a very inconsistent, hard to predict side are Caley. Literally one good result, then one bad result and repeat.

Our own form has been well documented on here. Brilliant home record of 100% wins. But away form is poor. We have lost our last 3 Championship away games. Conceding 7 and not even scoring one in reply.

The team i would like to see is....

..........................Siegrest...........
......Smith...Brown..Reynolds..Robson
McMullan..Butcher..Stanton..Appéré
.................Clark...Shankland....

Subs - Mehmet, Watson, Harkes, King
            Cammy Smith, Pawlett, Spörle

Re: ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

I'd go with the team below.

Stick Appere upfront alongside Shanks and put Sporle on the left wing.

I'd also be tempted to take out Stanton and consider putting Clark in just behind Shanks and Appere in a 4-4-2 diamond

.......................Siegrest.........…………
...Smith...Brown..Reynolds..Robson...
..McMullan..Butcher..Stanton..Sporle..
.................Appere...Shankland............

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

I very much doubt we will see Pawlett this weekend he way he pulled up. Brown probably doubtful too I'd imagine

I would go with this team aswell, Stanton getting the nod ahead of Harkes for his performance the other night, looked to bring abit more of a drive to the midfield that was lacking with king in there. Doubt Pawlett will be fit but if he is then would be the only change id make although may be slightly harsh on appere as he did set up the goal. Hope to f@ck we dont have clark outwide and mcmullan up top again as it just didnt work. Back to basics and hopefully we can come away with the 3 points.

Re: ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

We need McMullan back to form, when he plays as he can then we are a different team, if he's in anonymous mode then we'll struggle.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but have a bad feeling about tomorrow.

Pishing down, freezing cold and up against a team of hammer throwers who revel in those conditions, will our snow flakes crumble?

That is a great win.

3 wins in a week. 3 clean sheets in a week.

That is more like it.🖒

Excellent performance by the sound of things too. Perfect preparation for the Derby. I'd give my soul to win on Friday lol

Re: ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

Great win: reports stating we could have scored more, meanwhile Siegrist appeared to have stopped an equaliser from Keatings with a fine save at 1-0. That can make as big a difference as a goal at times.

John Robertson. 0 Points.
Robbie Neilson. 3 Points.

I like what I see.

Some bounce in the away end today. Class

Sets Friday night up to be a cracker of a game.12 points out of 12 would be really sweet.

And another thing: I wondered about the value of having Nicky Clark as a starter earlier in the season, and fumed a wee bit at his header off the post down at Ayr.

But generally he makes a difference if he starts when we look at positive results United have had this season.

And in the last three games specifically: great free kick against DAFC, fine turn and pass to Appere to provide the cross for the winner v PTFC and another goal today against the Invernessians.

That was an outstanding save that.

Great performance and an outstanding 3 points.

Talk of shankland getting a retrospective ban for an elbow. Anyone see it?

Does that not only happen if it's caught on TV? Or is that my wishful thinking?

Re: ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

If worst comes to the worst and Shankland does get cited then we just appeal it.

Which should free him up for the Derby and he'd miss Qots at home. Which he'll be away with Scotland with anyway.

Missed most of the incident by fatso bombed out of the home dugout and onto the pitch to berate Shankland and the ref. He is a grade A cock.

Re: ICT v Dundee United - Saturday 2nd November (3pm)

What a performance yesterday a huge improvement.
Thought we done very well and could have scored more. Benji great save in first half to keep it 1 nil. A fucking rocket from Harkes kept out from a quality save from their keeper at 1 nil also.
Clarks goals brilliant.
Thought Watson and Butcher both brilliant.
