Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

It's a high stakes game, could be a bit of a pressure pot. A loss could be very damaging. Please let us get the first goal. I'm shitting myself, hope the players have more bottle.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

A win but another poor performance it seems. I'll not be getting carried away though, too many let downs for that. We need to win our next two while our rivals are faltering. Tuesday is a huge game while our rivals all have tough away games. Cue a wet fart performance.

Agree a much needed win and huge games to come starting on Tuesday.

Baffled by taking Clark off, putting King on and the pushing Harkes up - a position he doesn't look comfortable in why not put smith on in that case, if he was looking to shore up the midfield why did he push Harkes up.

Great to have a win though!!

As has been said not the best performance but we got the 3 points.
Hopefully that continues with another 3 points on Tuesday evening.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

Decent first half display from us but the less said about that second half the better, their keeper could have got the deck chair oot.

Not a shot at goal when we are shooting down the slope.

How McMullan managed to get 90 mins?

McMullan was really poor the whole game.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

Ok first half, good goals and some decent football but poor final ball, needlessly nervy and scrappy second half. Clark very good first half, Pawlett decent. Defence comfortable. Reynolds solid. Robson was absolutely out on his feet by the end of the game. McMullan horrendous all game, Harkes dreadful second half. Worryingly, Shankland got some shocking treatment from them today (yet Liam Smith was the only player booked for over an hour). Butcher also appears to be playing through an injury and ended up coming off today. Be surprised if he makes Tuesday night.

Dunfermline are chronic.

Considering our last two results, I'll take the win. We are capable of much better though.

The absolute moaning-faced, boring bastard behind me in the GF is fucking torture. He's got a point with some of what he says but feels the need to say it non-stop for 90 minutes. He was moaning like fuck about Clark until he set up the first and scored the second.

But.... But.... But.... He said in the paper he was going to do his talking on the pitch.... Really pisses me off all the paper talk. If we do win this league it will be because we are slightly less shite than everyone else

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

MOM for me was Brown won almost every header. Important as  DAFC were another long ball, feed off the 2nd ball team

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

It took us nearly 10 mins to get into Dunfermline box, then we score from a great assist from the left from Clark, (Did McMullan get a touch on it ? ) Great positioning by Shanks. We were certainly the better team from that point onward. Clark's free-kick was a belter.

As folk've been saying, the 2nd half was scrappy. Neither team looked like doing phuck-all. Our problem was wasting opportunities. Remember the free-kick on the right just outside the box, where, instead of it being lifted into the box, it was rolled across the pitch, straight to a Dunfermline player. They then made the break down toward our end, and then nearly score. Can remember Clark going phucking mental about it.

The service Shanks got today was well, not good enough, and was in the main, caused by the quality (or not) of the passes. He was p1ssed off by it, by the end.

There was 4 occasions when Harkes passed back to the keeper, when he shouldna done, 2 of which almost cost us a goal. On the last occasion Reynolds was going off his nut about it.

MOTM for me Butcher, despite him not getting a touch of the ball till the 15th minute. 2nd half, he had a no bad attempt from 30 yards out which was off target.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

For me, like most, the main thing was the points this week although i do wish for some better football to be played. I didn't think we started particularly well but grew into the game, was made easier by the fine display by Nicky in the first half...some finish for the free kick! Thought the longer the first half went on the better we looked and could have been 3 although that maybe would of flattered us. Second half we weren't great, mcmullan was very poor today, couldn't cross a road and didn't make many forward runs or runs in behind. Just glad of the 3 points, with Clark and Robson back we may just have that wee bit of balance to the team that we have needed. Mentions to butch and Brown who i thought strolled it today, dont think the boy brown lost a header (and he was passing instead of lumping it too!). all in all, decent win, much needed. Big week ahead.

Glad to see someone pick him out for praise.

Only seen him twice, but i think the boy looked decent.

If he was paired with a better partner i think he'd stroll this division.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

It's a massive ask ( then again not massive, and should be within our capabilities in all honesty) But if we can somehow win our next 5 games I reckon we will have built a title winning lead over all of our main rivals. Ayr have begun to falter without McCall, and nobody is showing any consistency. Five wins out of five and I reckon we gain at least 6 points on everyone else, that's a huge lead if you add in the current gap.

Re: Dundee United vs Dunfermline - 26th October (3pm)

I think you are looking too far ahead, Arabdownsouth. And the performance yesterday doesn't give me confidence that we could secure six wins in a row anyway.

But I agree with Arab93, the main thing was to secure a win.

Well, it was nice that the defence didn't concede a goal.
Great to see Jamie Robson back, I like this boy.
Once Connolly is back fit we can perm 2 from 3 in central defence (tho still needing to see more of Brown, last week wasn't clever for any of our players).
Benji was commanding in fluo yellow, owns the 6 yard box. Only black mark was he didn't save a penalty

That's three of the five, next up is QOTS at home with Shankland away on international duty. We should still be good enough to beat these cunts at home and avenge the humiliating thrashing they gave us. 3 of the 5 wins I hoped for and the gap is growing!
