It has come to our attention that the club has banned the use of drums for both home and away fans. We have a drum in our group which is a fundamental part of what we are trying to do at Tannadice. For years now we have believed that the atmosphere at Tannadice has being dire and we wanted to do something to improve it. We have taken inspiration from other teams who have their own singing sections/ ultra sections whatever you want to call it such as Motherwell and Celtic.

When we met the club back in the summer the club promised us they would do anything to help us out. We now feel like they are going back on their promise. As this is only been our first season things haven't been great but we are trying. We have a group of about 15 who are backing the team every game. We are looking for more people to join us but this latest news from the club is going to put people off from getting involved with us.

The club have told us that they received a complaint from the residents of Sandeman Street that the drum is too loud and are threatening to seek further action from Dundee City Council. This news has come as a surprise to us as we have had comments from other fans in George Fox saying they didn't even realise we had a drum in our section. So for somebody to complain about the drum being heard outside the stand is ludicrous. All messages of support from united fans or even residents of sandeman street are very welcome and would hopefully go some way to getting Dundee United to change their minds.
