Worth noting that the Belgian transfer deadline is tomorrow

English deadline is Tuesday

Which means if Ferry isn’t away to Anderlecht or English championship by Tuesday night then the road is clear for Celtic to come in with a pathetic offer before Scottish deadline of Thursday at 5pm.

Brace yourselves…

I was talking shite, Belgian transfer deadline is Thursday.  If he’s leaving, then anywhere but Celtic will do me tbh.

I'm not getting carried away with that, to be fair I don't think any United fans are, it was just good to see us destroying a hopeless team for once.

But. Am I the only one that thought we were giving the ball away so cheaply at times that a decent side would have scored before we did?

We desperately need to find our first choice 11 and start them in every game so they start to gel as a unit.
This constantly chopping and changing doesn't help at all.

Wednesday will be a much bigger test of where we're up to.

Agree with giving the ball away too much, Bert saving us and woeful decision making from Killie stopped them scoring 2 or 3, albeit we could have also had another 2 or 3…

Not seen any mention of a fee, would guess maybe around the £500k mark?

We’ll get our usual defeats away to Killie and Motherwell and think that’ll be him.

Hopefully we’ve already started work on recruiting the next manager.

This starting 11 for me.

There are only 10 tickets left in the home end…. though Utd could still release another section at the end of the shed and also restricted view seats if they wanted.

Right back is the biggest issue for me just now.  Naamo can’t seem to stay fit and I wasn’t particularly impressed with him last season anyway. Rawlins looks miles off it.  Sevelj could probably do a better job there than both but don’t think that’s really his best position.

We have some good centre mids, we need to find the 3 that will work best together.  From the very little I’ve seen of Yoro I would suggest he will be one of them.  Tait has also been decent.  Then I think one of Sevelj or Ageyi (both have blown hot and cold so far).

Up front I’m really not sure what our best 3 are, plenty options but none look like definite starters at the moment.

You can add a right back as well. That Rawlins either isn't ready or is just utterly dreadful whilst Nammo is always injured and Goodwin clearly doesn't trust him anyway.

Agreed, can’t continue with Rawlins, he’s miles off it, unfortunately.

That’s more like the sort of fee we should be getting for a player like Will Ferry.  If he goes to Anderlecht that’s a good move for everyone.

Record reporting that another championship club (on top of Charlton and Blackburn) ready to bid.  Utd want £1.7m plus add ons.

Overall, happy with that.

Forbes MOTM.  Bennie looked good too.  Ferry will be a huge loss but we all knew that.  Squad overall looks better than last year, reliable keeper helps.

Knew it was coming but the night before the first game of the season v the huns is not great timing, can’t see him playing if we’ve accepted a bid.  Severely weakens the team.

Best I’ve seen Camara for a while.  Dewar looks like he could be very useful.

Worryingly we don’t seem to have found a solid centre back pairing yet, also thought the front 3 in the first half were all pretty poor after showing some promise in last two league cup games.  Don’t think we have many certain starters yet - Walton obviously, Ferry if he’s still here, Forbes -and Tait will start, Sapsford has shown enough in LC games but beyond that not sure anyone else can say they definitely start next Friday

It’s the constant failing to turn up in cup games that pisses me off most about Goodwin.  I could almost accept the league performances and results if they were accompanied by us having a proper respectable run in cups, being ready for the league cup group games, getting big convincing wins against smaller teams, turning up from first whistle in games against Falkirk, Motherwell and Killie, and going out and having a go at winning games against the bigger teams (not that we’ve had to face any of the so called bigger teams as we are usually knocked out by a smaller team).  The amount of times I’ve been furious after a cup capitulation under Goodwin is ridiculous - Spartans, Motherwell, Killie, QOS, Falkirk (x2), Montrose, Dundee, off the top of my head.  He either doesn’t understand the importance of cup Competitions to the club and supporters or isn’t capable of preparing and motivating the team to play in them.  It’s happened far too many times to the point that I just expect an abject performance and embarrassing exit every time.  The draws have actually been quite kind to us during his time!

I'm absolutely fucking fizzing with that tonight.

I’m pissed off but not raging as it comes as no surprise and I kind of expected it.  Goodwin has shown time and time again that he can’t set up a team to play against lower league teams who sit back.  He doesn’t motivate the players for cup games.  It’s a game we needed to win and that he needed to win and we’ve got our best midfielder on the bench and our best player not even in the squad (whether that’s Goodwin’s decision I’m not 100% but he is quoted as saying he’s available for selection).
